Curvy and the Canid is a wolf shifter story set in Sweden involving the Norse gods. From that alone, I wanted to read this story!
Told from multiple points of view and in the present tense, this story explains about Saskia and Einar. She is a BBW in a country where most are 'skinny-minnies' (big generalisation there from me). She is successful in her chosen career but lacks the confidence to go it alone as an artist. Einar is the Missing Duke and we find out his story too. Together, these two have to overcome a curse and prove that true love can heal all wounds.
This is only a novella and yet it packs a punch. I'm not too keen on novellas as I prefer my stories to have a bit more to them. However, I have to say, with this one, the story is all there! There is nothing missing from this tale and each character is fully developed. You get the side characters who obviously aren't as big as the main ones but they are still three-dimensional.
I loved the setting for this story and can only hope we see more of this setting in future books. Einar and Saskia make a great couple, good for each other in so many ways. With sexy times and lots of love, this was a brilliant story and I can't wait to read more.

THE SUCCESSOR is a standalone book in the Tales of Pern Coen series and, next to Wraidd Elfennol, Pern Coen is my favourite island to be on.
We leave the Wolf Clan and move to Ceffyl, the Horse Spirit's home. The villagers are suffering and Geraint isn't at all concerned. He sends his distant cousin, Torin, off to find his ex-wife, Briallen. She has something Geraint wants, and he isn't prepared to accept no as an answer.
I loved this story! Torin and Briallen are perfect together, the warrior and the healer. Their relationship takes time to build and it is all the stronger for it. Cleena, Geraint's current wife, could have just been a simpering fool but, instead, she comes into her own, using her own mind and not just accepting what she is being told. Siarl and Gwyn are the best friends and Maldwyn is the mother figure. And we can't forget the kids, Hywel, Aneirin, and Deidre. All of these characters simply MAKE this book.
I will admit, I wanted Briallen and Torin to have their cottage by the sea but, I'm hoping, they will still have it as a romantic getaway! LOL The ending was absolutely perfect for the story. It certainly made my eyes leak.
Another jewel in the crown of Pern Coen and HIGHLY recommended by me.

I received this book from NetGalley in return for a fair and honest review.
So this book carries on in the Arctic Love series but centres on Varg (norse for Wolf just in case you were wondering). Varg is a very different person than Andreas and has his own past to deal with. He hasn't lusted after Jonathan for years because he's never met him before. Jonathan we know from the first book has a very 'prickly' personality and makes sure that no one can get close to him. Varg is just here for a holiday , to see his brother Frey (if they can find the time due to Frey's shifts at the hospital) and spend time with Andreas too.
Varg is very blunt in his manner and has no problem with sex. He likes it, he admits it. He also admits that you don't have to like someone to have sex with them. For that alone, this book was refreshing. Yes, there's no gentle, tender build up to their story like there was for Christian and Andreas but come on, if every book was the same story, people would be complaining. This book is more matter of factual, less about love (to start with) and more about in your face instant attraction.
I am really enjoying this series and am looking forward to reading Frey's story as there were a couple of hints in this book about him. We've had tender and drawn out, we've had instant and attitudes so it will be interesting to hear his story.

weird and wacky but so bloody good!

Cos let me tell ya, this book is such a book! But I mean this in the BEST way!
Frenchie is a potato shifter. Yes, you read that right, a POTATO. Tala is a wolf. And it makes for quite an interesting read, it really does!
It's quite hard, I think, to come up with a really NEW idea, but Ms Sayle proper nailed it here!
It's proper weird and wacky as the series title suggests, but it's also a lot of fun, with some sass and some smex and some danger and a whole sack full of hints and clues about this world that I want more, and I want it yesterday!
As well as feeling pleasantly buzzed and left warm and fuzzy by this book, I'm also left with a lot of questions (which Ms Sayle will know, for me, is dangerous ground!) I'm hoping they get answered in future books. I can't really voice them, for spoilers, but I know what they are, so that's good!
Frenchie's brother and Tala's twin need their story. There is a lot of hurt between those two right now!
Or maybe a broccoli shifter? Or even a bean cos, apparently, beans are dull!
Please, though, read this. It really is a whole lot of fun, and a great start to what I can see being an fantastic series!

THE LIST is the first book in the Second Chances series and in this introduction, we are treated to Elliot and Win. Elliot is a diehard romantic homebody who just wants to be loved. Win is afraid of love, having lost his husband to an RTA, but there is something about Elliot that draws him in like a moth to a flame.
I loved Elliot and Win. Both of them have been through so much and I really wanted them to be happy - with each other, of course! They both have tragedies in their pasts and show how different people react. I thought this was incredibly sensitively written, and I loved every word.
What I didn't love are Spencer's friends. I'm sorry, I know I should like them, but I don't. Chess is the nicest one and even he is hiding a secret. Spencer is completely annoying and I want to slap him upside the head with every scene he is in. And Wolf!!! As a lawyer, what the hell was he thinking, going off half-cocked like that? I look forward to reading their stories and having Ms Stevens change my opinion of them.
This is the start of a new series and I am already hooked. Elliot and Win stole my heart, and I hope to hear more from them in the future. Highly recommended by me.

I loved Elliot and Win. Both of them have been through so much and I really wanted them to be happy - with each other, of course! They both have tragedies in their pasts and show how different people react. I thought this was incredibly sensitively written, and I loved every word.
What I didn't love are Spencer's friends. I'm sorry, I know I should like them, but I don't. Chess is the nicest one and even he is hiding a secret. This story starts with Clelia waking up in the woods. She is safe, as she has her wolf dogs protecting her, but she is worried that she may be the cause behind the multitude of fires that have started recently. There is a strong bond between her and Erwan, her grandfather. The story takes a twist when it is Erwan who is suspected of causing the fires. More than just the police are interested, and Erwan makes the decision that both he and Clelia are going to disappear. Clelia doesn't get very far before Josselin meets up with her, although she had already seen him, but he doesn't remember it.
This is a fast-paced action/adventure with a splash of paranormal. This is a fast-paced action/adventure with a splash of paranormal. There is plenty of Alpha Male growling going on whenever anyone else looks at Clelia, but Josselin isn't prepared to admit his own feelings. The scenes between Clelia and Josselin are very intense, and steamy in places. The difference between Clelia and Josselin is very obvious - in the fact that Clelia has a quiet strength that grows throughout the book, but is very submissive towards Josselin himself. As for him, I personally found his possessiveness/jealousy a bit much, but Clelia seemed happy with it, so that's all good 😉
A steamy adventure with parts of paranormal, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a different take on action/pnr.

OMEGA CAPTIVE OF THE GOLDEN DRAGON is the third book in the Alpha Dragons series, but it can easily be read as a standalone.
It is a sweet, slow-burning story that doesn't start off so well for either of our main characters. At nineteen, Caylen finds out he is a set-omega in a wolf pack, which means he will be sold. Varik, however, has it even worse. He is a golden dragon, who are hunted for their scales. Instead of protecting him, his parents keep him in a cage and forcibly take his scales. This goes on for years, until he is rescued by his brother. It is his brother also also rescues/buys Caylen and brings the two of them together.
This is full of emotions, and my heart broke along with Caylen's at one point in the story. Actually, at more than one point, but you get my meaning. It is steamy in places where it needs to be, but mostly it is about the connection between Caylen, Varik, and Varikan.
Smoothly written with a fast-ish pace, this was a brilliant read that I thoroughly enjoyed. The epilogue was perfect, and I enjoyed the snapshot into their later lives. Although dealing with some not-so-nice topics to begin with, this book gave me the warm fuzzies. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.
