"The Shawshank Redemption. The title threw me at first. Before I went to jail, I started watching [every jail movie]. That was one of them. I was trying to write a book, and I was having trouble. You know, I didn’t have the right publisher; they just wanted a book. I hooked up with this writer, a ghost writer, and he wrote a script for me, like, overnight. It was my story, but told from a bong’s point of view, and the bong gets put in federal prison. A week later the feds come in. There was some weird cosmic thing going on."

This book is so good. And Carrie Fisher was such a great writer. I love autobiographical books and this is honestly one of my favorites. I don't think you even have to be a fan of stars wars to appreciate the stories from these pages.

I've read this book so many times. I'm not sure whether the tips draw me in or Stephen talking about his thought processes behind some of his books. Either way, a fantastic read for anyone who would like insight into how a writer thinks.

Tommy comes to San Francisco to become a starving writer and meets up with the lovely Jody, who has recently been turned into a vampire.
I loved the details in this book. The five Wongs, The Animals, and the turkey bowling are fantastic plot ideas.
