"Brenda Chamberlain’s A Rope of Vines. I used to follow her ghost around. She was a writer and painter from Bangor in Wales. I’ve lived in some of her former homes and grew up in the village where she ran a radical printing press in the 1930s. This book is about her time living in Greece and has a particularly disturbing opening paragraph that sets the troubled tone for the rest of her book, and her life for that matter."

The premise of this book was to invent or create a diary written by Mary Pinchot, a woman who was apparently one of JFK's lovers, whose murder is unsolved to this day. Wolfe is a marvelous writer, and his prose is beautiful. However, I'm not sure that he carried it off completely. Just watched the first episode and right from the start it's interesting and really starts the story with a great premise. The cast is great and there are some scary and intense moments that are incredible. It is also set in the time of Jim Crow laws and draws some important parallels about the fact that Lovecraft was a talented writer, but was incredibly racist. The storytelling for the premiere episode is great and it left me wanting more. Overall, great show.
