"In the winter of 2005, I received Thomas Keller’s The French Laundry Cookbook as a Christmas present. It was during my early, struggling-writer years, when I was working as a chef to support my family (and my writing), and I often wondered if I’d ever make it as an author. I remember sitting down on Christmas Day to read Keller’s book in my small apartment in Colorado. I was inspired by his love for cooking, his artistry and creativity, and his deep dedication to his art. The book was an inspiration to me to keep writing and pursuing my dream of publication, and I promised myself that when I published my first book, I would celebrate at one of his restaurants. Ten years later, I signed my contract for Children of the New World with Picador. This past November, I invited my family to Per Se as a thank you for all their love and support throughout my years of writing, and I lifted a glass in thanks to Keller."

The whisperer In Darkness
By H.P. Lovecraft

Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments

The Whisperer in Darkness is a 26,000-word novella by American writer H. P. Lovecraft. Written February–September 1930, it was first published in Weird Tales, August 1931. Similar to The Colour Out of Space (1927), it is a blend of horror and science fiction. Although it makes numerous references to the Cthulhu Mythos, the story is not a central part of the mythos, but reflects a shift in Lovecraft's writing at this time towards science fiction. The story also introduces the Mi-go, an extraterrestrial race of fungoid creatures.

I really got into this story! He has a way of making you actually question whether there is life out there like that! Then you finish the book and realise it was just that a story! Told by a man with such an amazing imagination! I don’t know why I waited so long to read these!

"For me it could be every Kinks A-side from 1964 to 1969. Just an amazing run of the most fantastic pop songs. Village Green Preservation Society is obviously a great record, but Face To Face has some fabulous songs on it. It's almost a concept record. I don't think there's any lyrical theme to it, but it's very complete, which a lot of their records weren't before. What a writer, I can't say how much influence [Ray Davies] has had on me. The artistry of condensing all those ideas into a little three-minute song is just fantastic. I'm always still knocked out by that. When I was a kid and I first went to America, in the record shops you could buy all these old Kinks records, stuff I'd never seen or even heard of. So I came back with shitloads of Kinks records and that had a definite influence on [third Jam album] All Mod Cons. Those little story songs, vignettes of English life and English characters. That was a massive influence on me."

Bully is an action-adventure video game set in a fictional boarding school, Bullworth Academy.
In stereotypical fashion the students are divided into groups, nerds, preppies, jocks etc

The game follows newcomer Jimmy Hopkins, an aggravated teenager with an attitude problem who's about to discover what its like to be on the receiving end.
Filled with errands from both teachers and students & classes to pass like maths, geography, science & Gym and a GTA style gameplay and control system, bully has overtook its original canis canem edit pre gen console release with new characters and additional missions, with an array of costumes & weapons aswell as a perfectly annoying antagonist named Gary and a beautiful ending.

Bully created a gaming cult.
