A non-traditional zombie book that stays with you.

I loved this book. It had such a unique take on the zombie genre, rivaled perhaps only by M.R. Carey's The Girl with all the Gifts . Even compared to Carey's book, it's still in a league of its own. Just read the title. After the Cure.
Can you imagine what that would be like for the 'zombies'? To be cured, but have memories of all the horrible things they did while they were infected? To try to pick up again, to reintegrate into life? How positively horrifying.
Then there's the research to build a case against the jerks that started it all. There's intrigue, twists, horror, and discoveries, all told from the viewpoint of after the world almost ended, but humanity managed to save itself just in the nick of time. ...Right?
I haven't read the rest of this series, so I can't speak for it all...but I can speak for this book. This was, is, an awesome book that I highly recommend for zombie fans!

Good Story
Great film
I love this film. I love this film so much. I can quote it word for word.
If you like zombie films and dark comedy, this is your film. Despite the fact the film is a dark comedy, and it is hilarious, it does also have some soft, more intimate, spots in it which make you connect with the characters on a more personal level, something comedy films do not traditionally do, I feel.
The film isn't serious which is why I like it so much. But it is well performed and well made piece, with a good pace and story line to it. There is character development. There is also plot development to an extent but that is not essential to the story line. The story is about four characters on an adventure through a zombie apocalypse where they learn and grow from each other and not about the zombie apocalypse itself.
Overall, well worth the watch.
And let's not forget it has Bill f**king Murray!

Woody Harrelson. He is just brilliant.
Even a whimp like me can enjoy this!
So i first saw this on a zombie night with friends, no idea what possessed a whimp like me to participate in a zombie night but they assured me I'd like this one. They were right.
It has the odd jumpy bits which i can tolerate. This is where I usually hate a film, i HATE to be made to jump, this one does here and there but its nothing major. It's obviously got blood and guts which isn't actually what I'm bothered about.
Out of the zombie films around, its refreshing to see one that's not about the imminent death, but the survival and camaraderie of living in such a place. Reminds me of Shaun of the Dead in that respect, not about making the audience scared but laugh.
Because I'm a major whimp and i enjoy it, it speaks volumes that it's a decent film lol. Definitely recommend it and cannot wait to watch the sequel!

381. The Battery. A rather boring zombie tale. It has good reviews, but eh... We meet Ben and Mickey, two former baseball players, we know this because they frequently stop to have a quick game of catch, they are travelling the now deserted roads of New England. Mickey is the scared one, not quite grasping the situation and wants to settle down somewhere. Also Mickey wears headphones most of the time, is that really a wise decision walking the streets of a zombie infested land, and you disable your hearing?? And Ben wants to keep moving because that's the best thing to do. On occasion they run into a zombie, a person with some powder on their face and lipstick smeared on various parts of their faces. They also spend a large portion of time trapped in a car, and quite a funny part this is. First thing I noticed about the car they are trapped in, the windows are partially rolled down, however the zombies never reach in to grab at em. So yea, it's forgettable. Filmbufftim on FB

Emotional Story About Father's Devotion To His Child During The Zombie Apocalypse
Contains spoilers, click to show
I like this movie. I mean an emotional journey of a father trying to find a safe place and people to take care of his baby daughter before he turns into a zombie is a great premise. Martin Freeman also puts on quite a good performance as he portrays the character Andy on this journey. The backdrop of Australia was beautiful as the setting in this movie too. This film has a well written plot and tense atmosphere but for me personally didn't quite reach fare enough into the horror genre to scare you and not enough zombie action. What it did have was added tension from the characters of other survivors and not knowing how they would deal with Andy being infected. I really liked some of the small details like how the little girl Thoomi made modifications to her shoes so her mother couldn't find her tracks or how she painted her face with stuff to hide her smell from the zombies. I even liked the villain's motivations and reasoning because they seemed realistic and very believable. Still it has me on the fence a bit because it feels like it was missing something when being considered a zombie movie. I wanted to rate it higher but personally feel like it deserves the score of 7/10.

Dead Man Walking ( Death in a Northern Town book 3)
By Pete McKeirnon
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My name is John Diant. Tortured father to a missing teenage girl, friend to a retro 1980s music obsessed Scouse smart arse and brother to Runcorn’s answer to Chuck Norris, only with less hair and a shitter beard. It has been several days since the zombie apocalypse came to Runcorn and now my home town, is nothing more than a dead town. This is my journal…The comedy horror trilogy continues with Death in a Northern Town 3: Dead Man Walking. Follow John, 80s Dave, Butty and Emily on their journey through zombie infested Runcorn, trying their best to survive against both the dead and the living.
I’ve said it after every book I bloody love this series!! This one was a just as good as the first two. I actually nearly wet myself laughing (or could be I’m getting old and after having 4 kids things get that way 😂😂😂) and also woke my husband at 1am at 80s Daves dream. The Tina Turner nut bush started it but Freddie Kruger and the mayonnaise spoon just had me in bits. I absolutely love this writers style and I still think it’s one of the best zombie books I’ve read. I urge everyone to read it. Also yay for zombie geese and ducks!!

Zombies on a plane
A half decent low budget zombie film. It has a few familiar faces, average story and it's not long before zombies are busy eating just about everyone on the plane. There are far worse low budget horrors out there than this!
