The hype is definitely justified for this film. It's between this film and @Witness for the Prosecution (1957) for the best courtroom dramas ever made.
The tension is perfect throughout the movie, and the decision-making process on whether or not the defendant was guilty of the crime or not.
Every courtroom drama after this film has been undoubtedly inspired by this film. If you've never seen it and are a fan of courtroom/crime genres, this is a can't-miss film.

Brilliant film
One of my favourite movies of all time. Smart, moving and brilliant actors. I don't often watch black and white movies but this one has been one of my favourite for a long time!

12 angry men basicly a film about the lows of being a jurer in court.
As you know with a jury you have 12 strangers looked in a room to decide the fate of a person's life.
Tensions get high but in the end there can be only one answer guilty or not

"I’m grateful I saw this movie when I was twelve years old, without a scrap of cynicism. It was my first exposure to the anatomy of a sequestered jury. I remember I couldn’t wait to get my turn to serve, to be like Henry Fonda and repudiate bigotry once and for all. This was the American dream—not a Cadillac and a cigar but justice—righteousness and fair play that any child could understand."
