Introducing the hazy swirl of opener “Don’t Lie”, a sampled voice demands, “You need to make a nice song that I can listen to at night-time, not this grime…rap…shouting stuff.” Released concurrently with hip-hop mixtape 7 Days, this R&B-flavoured collection compellingly answers that request, with the South Londoners focusing their sharp raps on love and desire. Konan does a persuasive job as a velvet-voiced crooner on “For Me”, but they also recruit Jhené Aiko to add honeyed vocals and valuable female perspective to “Wrongs”, while Tory Lanez arrives to enhance the narcotic, heavy-eyed melodies of “Same Sh*t”.
