At fifty-seven, Gareth knows the exact cost of emotional absence. He spent an eleven-year marriage emotionally withheld, which was a failure he only fully understood after his wife walked away. Now, with nine years of hindsight, the former museum curator is captivated by Nia’s sharp mind and her deep fascination with old places. He notices how she sees beautiful details in the stonework that others completely miss, and he has absolutely no intention of hiding his fascination with her.

Nia has always believed that the kind of love which truly sees a person belongs only in stories. Gareth is determined to prove her wrong. She just doesn’t know it yet.
