Waiting for Sunday

2026 | Contemporary | LGBTQ+ | Romance

For three years, museum guard Nate Orson has watched a beautiful stranger visit the same painting every Sunday. He's never said a word to him, just quietly arranged his life around those few minutes each week.

Then one Sunday, the stranger puts his fist through a $1.3 million painting.

And Nate lets him.

It costs Nate his job. It costs Ren Scott four years in prison. Ren doesn't want the bail money, and he definitely doesn't want Nate driving out to the prison to ask if he's been eating. Life has taught him that nobody keeps coming back.

But Nate comes anyway.

Two hours there. Two hours back. Every Sunday, for just thirty minutes through a scratched plastic partition.

Inside, Ren is dodging gangs, running a black-market food empire out of four microwaves, and refusing to admit he spends all week waiting. Outside, Nate is turning his life upside down to get him out.

Ren believes needing someone is the first step toward losing them. Nate believes love means making himself useful enough to keep. Getting Ren out of prison might be the easy part. Believing they're allowed to keep each other will be a lot harder.

Waiting for Sunday is a slow-burn, emotionally intense MM romance about autistic devotion, touch starvation, trauma, and two men who keep mistaking mutual obsession for something they have to survive alone.
