Movie Metropolis (309 KP) rated The Shining (1980) in Movies
Jun 10, 2019
Stanley Kubrick was an absolute mastermind when it came to directing and watching his films are like a masterclass in movie-making magic. Sure, he was apparently very difficult to work with at times and on the set of The Shining in particular drove one cast member to near madness.
Based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name, The Shining is a 1980 horror classic. It’s not particularly scary anymore, but at the time, it was a deeply unnerving film set in a bleak mountain location. Look out for an incredible performance from the legendary Jack Nicholson if you haven’t seen it before. The cast member driven to madness? That would be Shelley Duvall.

Isaiah Douglas (2 KP) rated Hunt Showdown in Video Games
Feb 27, 2018
This game is filled with a lot of action, whether it be avoiding hordes of monsters, or sneaking up on players and killing them. This game feels very real and has a natural vibe to it. The game just got released to the public, but I am sure it will be one (1 more)
The game just got released to the public, but I am sure it will be one of the most played games of 2018.
Phenomenal New Game
I would highly recommend this game to suspense and action lovers.

The Craggus (360 KP) rated The Nun (2018) in Movies
Sep 12, 2018
The Nun (2018) shows exactly how you go about kicking off a dark cinematic universe. #Review
While it packs in plenty of atmosphere and creeping dread, apart from a few well-contrived jump scares, it’s not – it has to be said – particularly scary. There’s a great build-up to the very first night spent at the convent but from there it escalates so quickly and so unequivocally supernaturally that our heroes’ decision to remain and investigate without reinforcements is simply absurd. But it’s in that absurdity that “The Nun” reveals its true essence. Not as a bone-chilling, nerve-shredding terrifying horror movie but in a spooky, swashbuckling adventure horror in the mould of 1999’s “The Mummy”. FULL REVIEW: http://bit.ly/CraggusTheNun

Caitlin Ann Cherniak (85 KP) rated Forever Mine in Books

Never have I been more pissed at so many characters in my life. They're either unrealistically sexist or so fucking weak that they can't even stand up for themselves until something really bad happens. Also, I felt it should've ended at a certain point because after Angel found out the truth about Sydney, the whole ending with Sarah seemed out of nowhere. I have to read this book as research for one of my creative writing classes, and I really wanted to stab myself in the eyes because I hated this book so much. Like good God! Who thinks that making a guy so old-fashioned as "girls and guys can't be friends" is a good idea? Welcome to 2018, moron!

Kelly (6 KP) rated How to Walk Away in Books

My favourite book of 2018
Well I brought this book as heard so so many good reviews, like most books I try not to read spoilers as I enjoy the surprise! ..I was not disappointed I took it on holiday to Mexico and sat by the pool all day turning page after page ..the only disappointment I got was when I finished it!
It’s a strange feeling when your climbing deep into a book , thinking you know the characters well then ‘bang’ you don’t know them at all. It’s such a gorgeous love story but with twists I was not expecting I felt all sorts of emotions all the way through.
I will be reading more of Katherine’s books she is very talented

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated The Everlasting Rose (The Belles, #2) in Books
Dec 31, 2019
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for provide ng me with a copy of The Everlasting Rose in exchange for an honest review.
I cannot tell a lie. The Belles was one of my favorite books of 2018 and I was thrilled when I got the chance to review this one.
I loved it. The cat-and-mouse in the beginning was so well done and Camille having no idea who to trust just added the right amount of suspense.
The Belle mythology is intriguing and horrifying and like the first book this one has no small amount of body horror.
The only "complaint" I really have is that I wish we could have met the Iron Ladies sooner. I was so fascinated by them!
