I mean, come on, Will Smith returning to his 90s, post Fresh Prince, action hero roots?
I never got round to it, mainly because I never could get anyone else to go with me!
However, it recently popped up on Netflix, so I was finally able to give it a watch.
The verdict? Somewhat generic action thriller, not at all what I was expecting (which was something closer to the likes of Arnie's 'The 6th day'), primarily because of the far more contemporary setting.
It's no secret - it's even of the poster - that Will Smith is being hunted by a younger version of himself, but - watching this - it's obvious where the budget went: ie mainly on those de-ageing bits, with some of the other FX a little bit on the ropey side. That might also be because, I have since learned, that this was filmed for 3d yet I watched it in 2d.
Anyway, enjoyable but forgettable fluff.

Both of our MCs have issues and baggage to deal with, and I loved that! The other thing I loved was the fact Alex was in a wheelchair WASN'T the biggest part of it. There was so much more to this story than that, but I won't give out any spoilers.
Personally, I would have preferred a bit more about the characters themselves, them getting to know each other, before the angst. However, that would probably take it to novel status, rather than novella.
Well written and edited, with no spelling or grammar issues that disrupted me. This is a perfect coffee break book, with plenty of the warm fuzzies to go around.
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Paul Grundy (0 KP) rated Avengers: Infinity War (2018) in Movies

Death is very much the theme of this movie and it delivers death in massive helpings.
If you want a movie that doesn’t deliver that happy ending feel we have all become used too over the years then this is for you... if you don’t deal with grief and loss I would wait until Avengers 4 arrives in 2019 and would watch Infinity war right before seeing Avengers 4.

Jim LeBaron (69 KP) rated The Quacks of Quedlinburg in Tabletop Games

What are some of the things I loved?
A balanced press your luck component: If you press your luck too far you pay a price but that price isn't as steep as it is in other games
Catch up mechanism: Falling behind? No problem, Quacks helps you out until you are a little more caught up.
Replay Value: Each reagent has 4 variants so each game can be a little different. There are also two sided player boards. One for a beginner's game and one for the advanced game.
Simultaneous play: Players get to decide at the same time what they are going to do so you don't spend as much time waiting on others.
No Take That: From what I have seen there is no direct conflict between players, some people like that in a game some don't so I thought I'd list it.

I am not sure how to go about reviewing this book. This is actually the first book I have ever DNFed.
I decided to do this at 40%. I had a hard time reading this book because all it did was bashed Vance about his Memoirs. I have read Hillbilly Elegy and I never thought of things these editors are talking about. I have a hard time of people bashing someone memoirs. Memoirs are how people feel and from their point of view. I know by looking at the ratings on Good Reads I am the only one who feels this way. I really don't want to bash these editors so I will leave it at this. Sorry but I just couldn't continue.
