Rolling Stone's 473rd greatest album of all time
I have been listening to a lot of 80s alternative music recently, having become obsessed with The Cure and Echo and the Bunnymen. My feelings for the Smiths has softened somewhat, moving to musical appreciation and less "I don't like Morrisey's voice", despite his recent apparent racist nationalism. But a few of the songs on this album put this back a step as he is quite insufferable at times. A few of their classics are here but generally overshadowed by him being … him.

As a fan of the 80s cartoon back in the day and read the comics as well I knew enough about snake eyes and the Joe's so I was looking forward to the movie to see his origins and how he became a Joe its good film not perfect there's plenty of good action set pieces which kept me happy I will say its than the previous Joe which is saying some thing would have liked to seen more of the Joe's other than scarlett maybe if there's a sequel

Love the content - An 80s kids dream conversation!
So, I really enjoyed most of this - the content is awesome and the discussion is really thoughtful and thorough and different from most podcasts of this genre. I loved how it would bring up things from my childhood in the 80s. How things scared me (Ghostbusters 1 vs 2 - definitely 1 OMG!) And I love that they talk about not all the mainstream stuff - hell Bill & Ted!! I really like listening to Steven - he's solid, talks really well and is easy to follow. Kevin needs to jump in more with conversation... he does a lot of agreeing and sound effects (Yea. Right? HaHa!) it's a bit distracting (and kinda loud) and doesn't add much to the conversation (the Colossal ep specifically). Steven really does well running the conversations and his voice is pretty smooth and mellow which is why I think maybe it's just as simple as Kevin turning his mic down a bit?! I'm sure you guys will find your groove - and I look forward to seeing it happen!

A decent Transformers film for a change
I dont really know much about the original Transformers other than a vague recollection of watching the cartoon as a child. However for once we actually have a decent Transformers films on our hands - just goes to show what you can achieve without Michael Bay at the helm.
This is a fairly good 80s buddy style film, it reminded me a lot of ET which I suppose isn't a surprise seen as Spielberg has had some involvement in this too. Hailee Steinfeld is always charismatic and endearing in any film she's in and her character's sweet relationship with Bee really makes this film. And the 80s soundtrack is marvellous. It's amazing what a good soundtrack can do for a film. But don't get me wrong this film isn't perfect. John Cena for starters really can't act and should never be cast in anything, Charlie's family and story are ridiculously cliched and the plot itself drags a little especially during the middle and it's beyond predictable. This however is a million times better than the other over complicated action messes that were the other Transformers films, although as much as it's a fairly fun and entertaining film, it's a prequel we didn't necessarily need to see.
