"I like it because it's a time for me in the '90s, listening to that record. And he took four years off between that and Voodoo, and then years between that and the latest record [Black Messiah], which I think is amazing by the way. I'm such a lover of '90s R&B, and what I think was cool with the neo-soul thing of Lauryn Hill, him and Angie Stone. To hear the intro of 'Brown Sugar' on like MTV or something, and oh my god, just seriously cool. All this great music from that period. He's been a real influence on me actually. That whole time, in fact, but I think I'd choose him as the example from then."

Classic coming of age film
Classic coming of age movie, especially for those growing up in the the late 1980s and 90s. A bunch of misfits come together and realise they have more in common than apart. Great dialogue, music and feeling.

I went to this movie thinking that I wouldnt like it but wound up enjoying it a lot. Briee Larson does a great job as Captain Marvel and I am a 90s kid so I loved the music in the film as well. Goose is my new favorite Marvel character and him and Nick Fury are amazing together.

Rolling Stone's 479th greatest album of all time (2020)
I wouldn't dare suggest this has been added to the list to give more diversity, and if it had been that would not be a bad thing. But it really is a dreadful album of low quality 90s Eurovision rejects. "Bidi bidi bom bom" and a Spanish language cover of The Pretenders' "Back on the Chain Gang". Yeesh.

"Beside Knausgård, Harstad is perhaps the best Norwegian writer right now. It’s about a young boy moving with his family from Norway to the USA, growing up there in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and so it’s an outsider’s look at American society, written with clinical precision and desperate humor. If you like thick, epic books like DeLillos' “Underworld,” this is probably up your alley."

Rolling Stone's 354th greatest album of all time
A good jazzy rock album by Billy Joel, including the hit My Life. I have to admit I was first aware of this song when it was re-interpreted as "Number 1" by the 90s rock band A. An enjoyable jazzy and piano based album, all quite upbeat. So far, no questions over his fire-starting behaviour.

Rolling Stone's 162nd greatest album of all time
Quite simply one of the best albums of all time. Right from the off it is a collection of fantastic intelligent 90s indie anthems. What few lower moments there are provide a welcome moment to recover from what had just been experienced. Paranoid Android, No Surprises and Airbag are some of the best British rock songs ever.
