ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review, thank you.

I imagine this book would look really nice as a glossy, A4, paperback. Bright, colourful and attractive with cute little drawings and speech bubbles. Visually, this is definitely a winner. After reading this book I understand that it definitely isn't aimed at my age group, I'm too old and my daughter is too young *sad face* although I believe it's something I would of liked when I was younger.
I requested this because as a child I was fascinated with the human body and now...I just like gross stuff.
The poetry element was a nice surprise, although towards the end it was a bit of a mish-mash (are we learning about the human body or Shakespeare?).
If you're interested in the human body with an extra dose of ickyness then I recommend The Horrible Science collection. I love those collections!

I got this book in high school about six years ago and decided to finally give it a read. It was just starting at me from my shelf with it's sad eyes, so I had to give in.

This was a pretty interesting dystopia. I liked the world building and the idea of the eleven plagues to wipe out humanity. It was pretty well written and even though it was short, there was a lot of story involved in the pages. It felt like it was rushed. A lot of stuff happens in such a short amount of time that does not allow for the characters to really flourish in the book for me. I think that is the main problem I had with this book

It's been a while since I read it, so I don't remember much of the plot which is kind of a problem for me. I think I will look into more of what Jeff Hirsch has written because I want to try out another book of his to get a feel for the writing style.

Overall, not too bad of a book. I just wish I remembered more of it.

Slow burner
I read a lot of great reviews about this, but I found it as a very slow burner and I didn't always quite understand what was going on. I felt like I was missing something, the film was certainly missing something. I guess you could say there was an air of unease but that's it.

I loved the book. Totally sucked me in and I couldn't put it down due to all the wonderful twists and turns in this book. However I must admit I was a bit disappointed in the ending. Like the previous reviewer, I was left wanting a bit more.

I loved this book!!
I believe I have read all the books in this series and I was curious when Gen would get her own story. This story can be read as a stand alone I think, it mentions previous events but not in a way that make you confused :)
I highly recommend reading this book (and series).

"When you leave Woody Harrelson in the helicopter, and he’s there freaking out? I cry every time I see that. I love that movie. And it always made me look at [Robert] Redford differently, too, like he was a bit of a villain. I love Bob. But that movie, I love that movie. Adrian [Lyne]! I loved Indecent Proposal."

"I love it. I love the characters. I love the crazy psych ward. Jack Nicholson! I remember hearing about it when I was young and I was becoming more interested in film. Jack Nicholson had a run there in the ‘70s and ‘80s that was just unrivaled in my opinion. I’m a huge fan of his."

Dark twist on a classic story
Fantastic take on a classic novel
Just read it! seriously!

I had this book bought for me by my SO because he knows I love Alice in Wonderland, so I wasn't really sure what to expect from this book. I definitely wasn't expecting to love it, but I did, I honestly couldn't put it down.

I love books with a bit of a dark twist, especially classic lit like Poe. If you love the classics and dark literature then this book is for you. Henry takes all the characters you love from Wonderland and makes them new and sinister. It's a fantastic take on a classic novel and I cannot recommend it enough.

I recommend book 2 in the chronicles too!

I definitely recommend it, she's wrote a second book for this too" red Queen, and also a retelling of Peter Pan (Lost Boy), which I thought was even better than Alice! So I definitely recommend reading both of those too, especially Lost Boy if you haven't already :)

Received this book in a good reads giveaway and boy am i glad i did. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting,i loved all the different characters who all seemed so real ,if i found a reading circle like that id join it in a shot, loved the ups and downs and felt i lived it all with them,i am a big fan of erotica, but i wouldn't class this in that genre,it was more chick lit with spice ,i was in stitches with laughter at some points,it was nice to read a book with such strong, normal, female role models. But by far my favorite character had to be Reggie, loved the chic geek,so glad to have discovered a new author.
