The title is a little misleading
Not bad, but nothing special
I'll start off by admitting that my personal views probably affected my view of this film, as I'm really not fond of apes. However I did think the first 2 films were good, but nothing to write home about, and I'm afraid the third film fits in to this category too.
Yes the special effects are amazing, Andy Serkis is brilliant as Caesar and Woody Harrelson is great as a bad guy, if a little underused. My issue with the film is that it's title is misleading - the "war" isn't really the kind of war I was expecting. It's also very slow paced and despite a run time of just over 2 hours, it felt much longer. There was also a few silly plot holes and conveniences made to further the story which didn't quite work. Personally I think Dawn was a much better film as it more evenly balanced the ape and human aspects.

I had a hard time starting this. It reminded me of Jane Austen. Yes, I know that's the point but I would never have selected to read this if it wasn't a book club selection.
Again, this is another book that I'd rate a 3.5.

Being a smokejumper is a dream of mine like being a storm chaser. At 43 I don't think I will ever jump into a fire so I will have to be satisfied reading about it. This is a well told story that not only tells what it is like to be a smokejumper but also the history of this elite group. I now need to research the Triple Nickels. This book, like any good book, has led to more reading exploration. I highly recommend this book so you too may live another life.
Alison Pink (7 KP) rated Identity Crisis in Books

This book wasn't all bad. I love a good crime mystery book. I just found parts of this one to be VERY predictable. The premise behind the book had potential...a victim in a domestic abuse case & connection to the mob & identity theft. The idea was fantastic, but the writing to my dismay lacked much substance. All in all this was a free book & I am glad I didn't pay for it! It wasn't a complete waste of time thanks to a twist I wasn't expecting, but the characters were pretty cliche.

All time favorite book
This is my absolute favorite book and i can't say enough good things about it. I read this as a young child and it has been a yearly read since then. I have no doubt this book shaped who I am in a huge way and I wouldn't be the same person without it. It's often considered a horror novel, and while there is certainly a horror aspect to it, it's really a story about people and friendship.

"If I told you who did it you wouldn't believe it." The book was a definite page turner for me. At about 30% in, I wanted to find out how it was going to end. There were a few twists and turns along the way, but the outcome was inevitable. This was the second Baldacci book I had read. I am a big fan of James Patterson and I must say that this book was better than any Patterson book I have read in a long time. I would love to see this made into a movie...it would definitely be a hit. This book has everything you need. Action, drama, multiple murders, a touch of romance, and a bit of rough sex. What else could you ask for? I would recommend this to anyone who likes controversy and crime. P.S. Just found out, this is a movie!
