EmersonRose (320 KP) rated To All the Boys I've Loved Before in Books
Nov 20, 2019
I started reading this book the night I watched the movie because I found the characters to be so sweet. Was not disappointed and have already finished the series. I found this book to be refreshing and simple. It feels like a story I have heard before and yet has a sweetness that is unique.

Eleanor Luhar (47 KP) rated The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender in Books

This book was very different from those I usually read, and definitely unique. It took a little while for me to really get into the story, but once I did I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. The way it is written is unlike any other I have read - but definitely in a good way.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian in Books
Jul 10, 2018
This book (audiobook) was recommended to me by one of my friends. I finally bought it and went into the book not knowing what to expect. The audiobook is narrated by the author Sherman Alexie and he did a good job narrating his biography.
I found the book interesting for the most part. I did find that it dragged a little and at times I was annoyed by the narrator. I honestly would have rated it 3 stars and I didn't think I was very invested in the book until 75% into the book and I started crying due to a scene. When a book can make me invested in the characters I always add a 1/2 star and then I round up.
Honestly, I'm not quite sure how to review this book. For the most part, I found it a little dull but I did love the multicultural part of the book. It was fascinating to hear about how alcohol has destroyed so many people's lives and how it seemed like a part of the Native American's culture.
Overall, I enjoyed the book but I would have a hard time rereading it or recommending it. It would be a good book for freshman in High School to read if the teacher is wanting to show multicultural issues.

Caffeinated Fae (464 KP) rated Sorority in Books
Jul 12, 2018
If you're looking for a novel that has a true beginning, middle and end, this is not the book for you. Sorority by Genevieve Sly Crane tells the story of various sorority sisters in bite sized short stories. The story unwraps to reveal the story of Margot.
I went into this book expecting a full story and not various short stories. That in itself took me a bit to get used to. Though it wasn't a format I was expecting, I still enjoyed it. The characters were interesting and I liked that each person had their story to tell. I liked that I could relate to multiple characters and see their lives. I have to say, I'm glad I never had the urge to join a sorority. Though I did like the book I have one issue. My one main issue is that the book feels a little incomplete simply because there was no true end. I like having an ending so this book just doesn't sit right. It did work with the story though.
All in all, I enjoyed it.
**I received this book from NetGalley**

Natosha Nadiene Snider (25 KP) rated Shazam in Apps

I have only used Shazam a few times mostly to find out what song is playing on the radio. It's a pretty good app but I haven't used it in a while.
