AT (1676 KP) rated Parasite (2019) in Movies
Mar 13, 2020
I loved Parasite way more than I was expecting to. It was unique. A breath of fresh air compared to everything else that's out now. I thought it was part horror, but I guess it wasn't. Violent, yes. However, it was also a well-woven story that had a lot of smart humor in it. I really enjoyed it, and can definitely see how it won so many Oscars this year. It's definitely worth your while to watch.
Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Just One Wish in Books
Jan 7, 2021
I think it ended a bit abruptly and i wasn't convinced by the romance but it won me over a lot with Annika's dedication to her sick younger brother and the stories and the wishes and all the stuff she does to make him happy. I shed a few tears near the end when i thought it was going to be bad news--and with how it ended, it could still be bad news--but i did like it.

Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Tempting Evil (Riley Jenson Guardian, #3) in Books
Sep 5, 2019
Coming into a series three books in was not a good idea, I had no background info about her brother or her lovers or the guardians. I was just suddenly knee deep in a story that I was enjoying up until about the 150 page mark when she was suddenly having sex with almost everyone and I felt like I'd missed something (which since it's the third book, I obviously had). Therefore i'm giving it three stars.
Rolling Stone's 197th greatest album of all time
I would have said I was a massive REM fan, but I can honestly say I had never listened to this album in total before now. Radio Free Europe is a brilliant song, and the rest is all typical early REM style if a little forgettable. Quite surprising because I always thought of REM as an albums band, where they had high quality songs throughout the album, but not so here.
Bookapotamus (289 KP) rated The Other Woman in Books
May 29, 2018
Ahhh this book is SOOOOOO good! I looooved The Other Woman - but I hated how it made me feel. I was having anxiety so bad reading this. I really felt like I was in certain situations and I totally felt ALL the emotions as I was reading it. I felt like my whole brain was inside this book - and omg did Pammie make me SO angry!!
The Other Woman is a figure so many of us have in our lives... the dreaded mother-in-law. While mine is pretty amazing in real life, I know of so many friends who are not so lucky. The strain of having a bad relationship with a MIL has got to be so hard on a realtionship. But when it's borderline evil... I cannot even imagine. I literally was having chest pains reading this and felt like I was also going through all of the horribly awful things that Emily had to endure from her love Adam's psychotic mother, Pammie.
I sped through this. I needed to know what happened. If I put it down, I couldn't get it out of my head. But I had to put it down for fear of a panic attack! Its been a long time since I actually felt such strong emotions from a thriller. I got totally addicted and loved every minute of it. And when I got to the last page, about Sandie Jones, and read it was her debut?!? What the what!? New favorite author here. Must find out when her next book comes out.
Bravo. 5 Stars all around. One of my favorites this year so far.

Molly J (Cover To Cover Cafe) (106 KP) rated Runaway Romance in Books
Feb 27, 2019
It's been sometime since I read a Miralee Ferrell novel. I loved her work when I read her Love Finds You books, but I hadn't read them in a long time. So, when the opportunity arose for me to review her new book, Runaway Romance, I jumped. It sounded intriguing and not like what I am used to from her and I couldn't wait to jump into it. I was very happy that I did!
This book is filled with fun loving characters. I was instantly hooked on Ann and Hunter's characters and they both settled into my heart to stay. I loved the way Ann fell in love with the Amish Inn and their way of living. I feel the same way when I go to Amish country! And Hunter, bless him! I loved his character so much. I really felt for him, watching him be a little cautious when it came to Ann. My momma self came out when his character was introduced.
In Miralee Ferrelly fashion, she throws in a few characters that you will either love, or love to hate. I enjoyed getting to know ALL of the characters within the pages of this new book. Each one brought something different to the tables and really kept me turning the pages long into the night.
This is definitely a 5 star book! I highly recommend it to all who are looking for a book on trusting God, forgiving and learning to accept His will. The characters will take you on a whirlwind ride and leave you wanting more! I am definitely looking forward to more books like this in the future from Ms. Ferrell. Well done!

Merissa (13643 KP) rated Shadow Guardian (Blood Shadows #1) in Books
Feb 4, 2022 (Updated Jul 3, 2023)
SHADOW GUARDIAN is the first book in the Blood Shadows trilogy and I may have just found a new trilogy to crush over!!!! We have fated mates, a secret society with secrets galore, the wilds of Wales, betrayal, treachery, druids, and did I mention Wales? It's here, it's all here, and it's bloody brilliant.
I won't even bother doing a run-down of the story. I know I'd miss something out accidentally. This is a fast-paced, intricate and intriguing story that lets you absorb all the details as you go along. I never felt like I was being rushed, but I also couldn't wait to see what happened next.
The characters and world-building are of the extremely high standard I have come to associate with this author but put into a contemporary paranormal setting rather than fantasy. Kay is a strong female protagonist who, yes, has her own battles to overcome, but will fight instead of waiting for rescue. And I adored how she turned Ethan down. (Read it; you'll know the bit I mean.) She let him know exactly how she felt, and how his words had hurt her, and I loved that. Don't get me wrong, I want the HEA but, sometimes - just sometimes - the men need to work a little harder for, you know what I mean?!
All in all, it was an outstanding read that I devoured in one sitting. Sheer brilliance and I can't wait for Zach's story. Highly recommended by me.
