David McK (3649 KP) rated Firestorm (Weather Warden, #5) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
I quite enjoyed the first Weather Warden book ("Ill Wind").
The second ("Heat Stroke") was even better
Unfortunately, the third, and then the fourth ("Chill Factor" and "Windfall", respectively) were a bit of a let-down.
Thankfully, this is a return to form: picking up almost exactly from the end of "Windfall", this is faster-moving than it's predecessor, more engaging and more action-packed.
R.E.M. sang it best: "It's the end of the world as we know it ..." (even if, for some inscrutable reason, that track is missing from the authors' own suggestion of what to listen to while reading)

fantastic start to the duet
This is the first book in this series by these authors. What an amazing start to this duet. This book is crammed packed with action, hot and sexy scenes, fantastic story, strong beautiful women and extremely hot men. This book will suck you in and keep you hooked till the very last page, leaving you wanting more. This is a very well written story with amazing characters. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
Highly recommended start to the duet

Strong Female Characters (2 more)
Gorgeous Fight Scenes
Overall Clever Script
Smart, Sexy, Action Packed
Although I am a huge fan of hot sexy badass chicks I found the flashback sequences top distracting to truly enjoy the film. I understand the purpose of it, demonstrating a truly brilliant effect of multiple scenes laying over each other meant to deceive, holding true the spy game, they were also distracting as one had to piece together what was happening quickly and by then the scene was over. However the acting was truly brilliant and the scenes were beautiful to behold.

Dog jokes (1 more)
Dick hits
Disappointing to Say the Least
After the first and second films I'll admit I was somewhat excited to see the third. The first two were not only packed full of action but also held stable plotlines that kept me interested. I am sadden to say that this film did not hold up. I found it to be filled with nothing but dog jokes and dick hits. Literally there was not a single battle scene without at least two dick punches. I found myself unable to take the film seriously and struggled through watching the majority of the film.

fab read
This is the second book in this series by this author. Omg this book is just as good as the first one. I couldn't put this book down till I'd got to the end, then I was left wanting more. This book will grab you from the first page. This is a fast paced action packed read. This book has the perfect mixture of romance, suspense and mystery. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

Money Never Sleeps
Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps- is a good film. Its suspenseful, dramatic, thrilling and action packed with drama.
The plot: Following a long prison term for insider trading, Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) finds himself on the outside looking in at a world he once commanded. Ostensibly hoping to repair his broken relationship with his daughter, Gekko forges an alliance with her fiance, Jake (Shia LaBeouf). Although Jake comes to view Gordon as a father figure, he learns the hard way that Gekko is still a master manipulator who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
Its a good film.

amazing
What would you do if you were kidnapped in the middle of the night and end up finding out that everything you've ever known is a lie! Fern has been kept a secret for her whole life now she must discover who she really is.
An absolutely action packed Thriller of a novel I was gripped from the get go. The way Yolanda has written absolutely captivates your imagination and takes you on the journey along with the characters I round myself getting nervous at points worrying about the outcome. I will definitely be reading the other 2 books!
Absolute must read

David McK (3649 KP) rated The Saxon Wolf (Fireborn #2) in Books
Mar 22, 2022
The second entry in Angus Donald's Fire Born series (after The Last Berserker: An action-packed Viking adventure) and, for some reason, I'm just not feeling it.
Unlike his eminently more enjoyable (IMO) Robin Hood stories, or even the Holcroft Blood trilogy.
I'm not sure why that is: set during the dark ages in and around the time of Charlemagne (a major recurring character), and featuring a reluctant Viking berserker you would think that this ticks all the boxes, as it were.
And yet, for some reason, it just didn't click for me.
Your mileage, of course, may vary!
