Couldn't put it down!
This book is amazing! A diverse set of twenty somethings embark on a great adventure. There's espionage, political savvy, action, and magic! The characters are so relatable!
Not only does Caruso provide intriguing plots and clever dialogue but the themes she explores are thought provoking and deep.
I recommend this novel for anyone and everyone!

2.5 stars
A short story about Will's undercover adventure that occurs between books 6 and 7 of the series. The first chapter was jam-packed full of action. It was a quick read and while each discovery surprised me, I felt it was lacking something - but I'm used to the full-length stories, so maybe that's just my problem.

Family friendly time travel action adventure sci fi, with Ryan Reynolds starring as a pilot from 2050 who aims to travel back to 2018 (for reasons made clear in the film), misses and initially ends up in 2022 where he then encounters a younger version of himself.
Definitely gave me the feel of the 80s Amblin films!

KyleQ (267 KP) rated Dungeons and Dragons: Honour Among Thieves (2023) in Movies

Very enjoyable fantasy adventure.
Based on the tabletop game, a group of adventurers bands together to exact revenge on the thief Forge (Hugh Grant).
Honor Among Thieves moves along at a brisk pace, using plenty of humor, which is well delivered by its humorous cast.
I was particularly worried from the trailer that this would be too focused on action and humor. Thankfully it wasn't.
Characters all have different backstories, though they are all quite predictable.
The main villain is very interesting and intense.
Action sequences are spaced out, well-choreographed, and quite clever.
Overall, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves doesn't really do anything new or different for the fantasy adventure genre. But what it does, it does well.
Very enjoyable, and a good introduction for D&D into the world of cinema.

Very enjoyable
This is similar to the King Arthur movie with Charlie Hunnam. Urban street meets classic legend. It was fun and action packed adventure with the right amount of rogueish antics. Again my only issue was with the villain of the story, who just seemed too weak. Overall, it was well made and enjoyable. Id watch it again

A Window into Another World
For me, the second book in a series is always the best. The author has already introduced the characters and has set the scene for the adventure in the first book. The second book gets into the meat of the story and gives the reader pages of pure action and adventure, which is exactly what I got with this book.
The Subtle Knife is the sequel to 'Northern Lights' and introduces the character of Will Parry who is on a mission to find his father. Along the way, he meets our heroine from the first book, Lyra and together they set off on an adventure to 'fix the world'.

A good film that centers around the close group of kids that are friends. It has a slight Stand by me vibe mixed with the adventure feeling of some of Spielberg's films from the 80's. It has a good young cast and doesn't try to overload you with the action scenes and stunts. An enjoyable film filled with nostalgia for films from that era.

Shark Weak 2 has only just begun but I've already had it with these motherf***in' sharks on this motherf***in' blog. Deep Blue Sea (1999) #SharkWeak2 #Review
Fittingly, we open #SharkWeak2 not with a terrible shark movie, but with a surprisingly seminal one with many of the modern sharksploitation tropes finding their roots in this turn of the millennium action adventure.

Ok. I am completely biased towards this movie because I grew up on it. I know that this movie has problems as far as it's historical accuracy and some of its historical references. But I can't help just loving this film. It's such a fun, lighthearted adventure that is wonderful to watch and extremely enjoyable! I love the characters in this film and all of their quirky attitudes. Besides that, none of the side-characters feel like they were wasted opportunities! I think that this movie did a phenomenal job and accepted that it was going to be a dorky, fun, action-adventure film.
