The Meg (2018) is a whole lot of fin and a whole lot of fun. #SharkWeak2 #Review
As a long-time reader of Steve Alten’s pulpy aquatic horror novels and a fan of shark movies – bad and good – I’ve long been hoping for a movie adaptation. Unfortunately, “The Meg” always seemed to find itself trapped in development hell, much like the eponymous monster is trapped beneath the thermal barrier at the ‘bottom’ of the Mariana Trench. But, in both cases, that’s no longer the truth – The Meg is loose, released by Warner Bros to terrorise the denizens of Mana One, a state-of-the-art oceanic research station...

The Grinch (2018)

Illumination's sweet adaptation of The Grinch (2018) opts not to shrink the title character's heart the whole three sizes. #Review
Prematurely Christmassy – and I don’t mean that in a Grinchy way – Illumination’s take on “How The Grinch Stole Christmas!” is as warm and sweet as a hot mug of cocoa that’s mostly marshmallow. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely feels like this is a movie that will find its real home on home video next Christmas rather than unceremoniously dumped in early November where it's left looking longingly at the distant, cosily festive light of December, much the same way its title character regards the town of Whoville from afar....

Graphic adaptation of on eof my favourite Discworld books, which is set eras before the 'main' Discworld stories themselves.

I have to be honest: I didn't even know there was this adapatation of the story until I came across it in a local bookstory: having read it, I think I prefer this over the only other graphical take on the stories I had encountered before ([b:The Discworld Graphic Novels: The Colour of Magic & The Light Fantastic|2728900|The Discworld Graphic Novels The Colour of Magic & The Light Fantastic|Terry Pratchett|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1348432296s/2728900.jpg|2754534]) in that the artwork seems more vibrant, more what I would imagine the characters to be like.

This adaptation of Emma was pretty entertaining, and the costumes were absolutely gorgeous. I love most adaptations of Austen's work, as long as they respect the source material. I really loved the cast, and it did make me chuckle once or twice out loud.
One this that hurt this film for me was the fact that @Emma (1996) was better. If you don't compare the two, you'll probably enjoy it more.
I definitely want to see it again, but since the corona and lime sniffles apocalypse shut the theaters down, I'll be unable to. Yes, it is available to stream, but why pay to stream when I have a Regal Unlimited membership?
