"I’m a big fan of S. E. Hinton and her handful of early young-adult novels. Rumble Fish is a great adaptation, and I really love the approach that Coppola took with it—he shot it immediately after shooting The Outsiders, and by comparison Rumble Fish is much smaller, bolder, and more esoterically artsy while still being true to the spirit of the book. You get the sense that he really enjoyed making it. Also, the Stewart Copeland soundtrack is great. "

I think I have resentment towards this film because I was called Dumbo throughout my childhood, for both my ears and because people thought I was dumb. So, I think I've blocked most of this movie out of my brain.

All I can remember is that it was depressing and it upset me when Dumbo's mom was put into a cage because she whooped up on people making fun of Dumbo. I would not watch this again as an adult.

Dance, magic, dance

Its one of those movies that you love as a child and when you come back to it as an adult you realise how messed up it is haha. I love singing along to the songs, but the orange hairy puppets still freak me out. David Bowie is fantastic as the goblin king if you order all the child marriage/kidnap and turn baby into a goblin thing. Overall, fun movie and a timeless classic.
