"After a life of watching silver-screen idols and debonair ne’er-do-wells, this film came out like a punch to the sternum. It showed that film was not simply a convenient vessel for story and adventure but could say much deeper things about us, as if we were shifting pieces on chessboards . . . but also about death, about the Crusades, about fighting or playing for one’s soul. And what comes after it all: a credit scene, starring everyone important in your life? There’s more to it, more to this film than it lets on—and I’ve been thinking about it for years."

Okay so walking into the theater I wasn't sure what to express due to the fact of the past two films not being that great but I personally loved this it was action packed adventure and suspense filled I say two thumbs up but remember that it's PG-13 for a reason so if nonstop action sounds like a problem then you may want to take the kids to another movie however if they really wanna see it and they can handle action then I highly recommend it

"This is a record I've just fallen in love with. I've known Miles Davis and some Charles Mingus before, but this is something else. I was given it as a present, and I've just been captivated by it. It's so packed with emotion, and it takes you to all these different places in love: struggle, pain, joy, transcendence, chaos and calm. 

It also feels so complete in the story it tells musically. And to have this whole new musical adventure now, to be thrown into this other world, in this music I never listened to when I was younger, is really exciting."

I wanted to like this so much as I love the other 2 but its very poor in comparison. It did enough for me to watch until the end but my score also reflects on comparison to the other 2. With all the time between films a better storyline and better song could have been thought of surely? The passing onto the younger generation is something I'm in to generally; we bought into the characters in the title not just dumb female versions of them acting out excellent adventure. But if done right can blend together seamlessly. Such a shame!

There is literally nothing I could say that hasn't already been said about Raiders of the Lost Ark, so in short...

Although films such as Star Wars and Jaws had come before, the first Indiana Jones adventure truly set the blueprint for blockbuster cinema. It scared me as a kid, delighted me as I grew a little older, and still rips all these years later. Its influence can be seen in all avenues of popular culture since, and I will never, NEVER forget how Paul Freeman didn't even flinch a millimeter when a fly crawled into his mouth mid line. Cold. As. Ice.
