David McK (3425 KP) rated Cars 3 (2017) in Movies

The third (obviously!) in Pixars anthropomorphic 'Cars' sereis, that returns to the roots of the first movie after the spy sheenanigans of the second.
This time around, Lightning McQueen is starting to lose races to a new generation of racers, and to feel his age with lots of talk of his early retirement (I would love that. he doesn't).
To get back into his former winning ways, the plot of the movie has him teaming up with a younger race technician who always wanted to race herself and, well, you can see where this is heading ...
As always with Pixar, superlative animation alongside a tale which tries to teach some life lessons (here, around ageing), although I have to say that, as a whole, the 'Cars' film do not really rank up there amongst their best output for me.

Brilliant
I haven't seen series 1 but i did see series 2 which I thought was pretty good, this prompted me to watch series 3. Well it was amazing, finally a set of writers that can write a good ending to a series (after the disappointment of Liar and Dr Foster). I was not expecting what happened at the end. I didn't always quite understand why the perpetrators were doing what they were doing, nor why they made Karl make a choice at the end but it was still gripping.

Game changer
Going to see his film at the cinema with my dad was one of those memorable evenings because neither of us had seen the trailer or knew what to expect. Wow did we get a good couple of hours. Jaw dropping effects and a story so engaging and yet so different that our minds were blown for a couple of days after. Keanu Reeves in the role of Neo and linking up with the white rabbit will always be on top of my best ever films list.

Not just a good horror movie, a good movie
I Love horror, I am not a diehard Steven King fan, although I did try to tackle the book after seeing this movie. I’m used to jump scares and have always had a pallet for the psychological thriller aspect. But I’m this movie all the nit picky details of what makes horror good fade away because the shots are amazing the child actors are hilarious, endearing, and down to Earth. I’ve never appriciated a movie labeled horror more for its cinematic and story telling qualities.

Too Much Icing is a Thing
While I enjoyed the film I felt there was just a little too much "Deadpool humor" in the film. There's a time for a punchline and a time for plotline, unfortunately this movie blurs that line way too many times. The jokes become stale and the writers have to take the game up a notch to continue to attempt humor. It got old after a while for me.

A very different season
After the tension of the previous couple of seasons, this one is very up and down. The biggest surprise was a huge jump in the time line early on in the series. As always there are big twists and a new group of baddies encountered. The series didn't really end on a big cliff hanger as usual. A mixed season with some good story lines but also a major shift in the overall feel of the show.
The authors take their Peter Pan prequels to the era we know best as Peter must team up with Wendy to save Molly, George, and all of England from a new threat still after the star stuff. If you've enjoyed the others in the YA series, you'll certainly enjoy this one. The multiple plots actually seemed to compliment each other, and I always had a hard time putting the book down.

I read this in early in the year. From what I can remeber is that there a snowstorm and Ethan is looking for a place to have his daughter safe and sound until he can make it back after making his delievery. There so much going on.
Molly has a hard time with the infant and she can not come with her faith until it a strangers. She is always wanted to a family and does she get it or not. you will need to read to find out.

Yesterday was the first time I've ever watched this film to completion. Normally, I always catch it with the whole jell-o shaking on the spoon scene. I can definitely see why it was cutting edge at the time, the SFX were pretty good for 1993. The story was interesting, and I definitely think I would have had nightmares had I seen it when it came out in the 90s.
My one thought after watching this...why would you need to follow up this movie with any other films?
