Everyone has a mask. Some are just more difficult to see.
BEWITCHED is the fifth book in the Breakers Hockey series and we reunited with Raph and Beth. He is still backing away from relationships and Beth is busy being surrogate for Pru and Marcel. How will these two ever get together?

By Beth feeling the effects of being pregnant, and with twins too! Raph is an alpha male who does run roughshod over Beth at times. She needs someone to stand up to her and show her that he cares, but I did find it slightly annoying in places. Another thing that grated was Beth's constant musings about castles, dungeons, and demons. I got it. I didn't need bashing over the head with it repeatedly.

If you ignore those two things, then I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Raph and Beth have rocky ground to cover but they manage it. They have help from their friends, which also allows you to play catch up with the other couples too.

Elise Faber isn't afraid of delving deep into hurtful and abusive backgrounds and always does it with respect and tact.

It is Cas' story next and, yet again, the taster at the end has left me wanting it immediately. Still no idea if Brandon gets a story, but I'm nothing if not hopeful!

A great addition to the series and definitely recommended by me.

STOLEN BY HER BEAR is the first book in the Black Ridge Bears series and we return to the universe of Eternal Mates, and the friendly Cougar Creek neighbours. You could read this by itself, but I personally would recommend you at least read Cougar Creek, just to get some idea of the backstories involved.

Saint is the Alpha of the Bear Pride, and he is none too impressed when they are woken from their hibernation by laughter, frolics, and shenanigans. Unfortunately for him, when he tries to ask nicely, the cougars are holding a grudge and refuse to keep the noise down. Saint's bear takes over and he kidnaps the mate of one of the cougars... except, she isn't!

I loved how Holly was just like her namesake. She was very prickly to begin with, but I couldn't exactly blame her! Saint doesn't want to be grumpy, but he has only just woken up, and his bear is very cranky. He is a sweetie though.

Returning to this universe is like slipping on a favourite pair of shoes. You can walk for miles in them and still feel like going for more. Saint and Holly make a perfect first pair for this series, and I can't wait to see where we go next. (I'm looking at you, Lowe... I think!)

A great, fun read that is definitely recommended by me.

This story starts with Clelia waking up in the woods. She is safe, as she has her wolf dogs protecting her, but she is worried that she may be the cause behind the multitude of fires that have started recently. There is a strong bond between her and Erwan, her grandfather. The story takes a twist when it is Erwan who is suspected of causing the fires. More than just the police are interested, and Erwan makes the decision that both he and Clelia are going to disappear. Clelia doesn't get very far before Josselin meets up with her, although she had already seen him, but he doesn't remember it.

This is a fast-paced action/adventure with a splash of paranormal. There is plenty of Alpha Male growling going on whenever anyone else looks at Clelia, but Josselin isn't prepared to admit his own feelings. The scenes between Clelia and Josselin are very intense, and steamy in places. The difference between Clelia and Josselin is very obvious - in the fact that Clelia has a quiet strength that grows throughout the book, but is very submissive towards Josselin himself. As for him, I personally found his possessiveness/jealousy a bit much, but Clelia seemed happy with it, so that's all good 😉

A steamy adventure with parts of paranormal, I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a different take on action/pnr.

very enjoyable read!
Independent reviewer for GRR, I was gifted my copy of this book.

I enjoyed this, a lot!

Clay is human, and Arcay is Aldar. Arcay is Alpha and unmated: he will be lucky to ever be, since omegas are very rare, but steppingon Clay's ship changes all that. He just needs to claim clay, and they can both be happy ever after, right? Oh hell no!

I loved that Clay fought Arcay at every turn, he was not gonna be strongarmed into smething he didn't know! Once he makes that clear to Arcay, though, Arcay does try. It's the other alphas on his ship that are sniffing around Clay, while Clay makes his mind up. Some confrontations occur, which push Clay into making a decision.

Lots of misunderstandings in this book due to the language difference but the best one came right at the end! I loved that, but not saying what it is. Generally they were amusing throughout the whole book though.

Steamy and smexy in places, dark and deadly in others. Some difficult topics hit upon, too. Funny and emotional too.

Some things are a little unfinished, I think. So, I hope things are tidied up in the next book.

From what I can see, this is the author's first book, or the first one under this name. In places that comes across BUT I can see that will change as the author continues to write. There is that book 2 planned, and I hope I can get to read it!

4 very good stars

OVEREAGER is the first book in the Extra Credit series and follows the story of Eli, the professor omega, and Noah, his alpha student. To be fair to both of them, neither of them were aware of that when they first met.

Eli was celebrating the finalisation of his divorce, and Noah was enjoying a quiet night away. When they meet, the attraction is instantaneous. Noah is not backwards in coming forward, even if he is a virgin. He is the opposite of what Eli was used to, with a strong caretaking gene that made me all kinds of gooey when I read about it. These two were just so good together, even if they did have to keep it a secret. Of course, it didn't remain that way, but I won't give out any spoilers.

Richard, Eli's ex, is a first-class d!ck - just saying. I was glad when Eli stood up to him, although he shouldn't have had to do that at all anyway. Here's hoping he doesn't show up in future books, unless it's to watch his downfall, in which case, I'll bring popcorn.

I can't wait to read more in this series and really can't recommend this book highly enough. A great read that had me hooked from the very beginning, a one-sit read for me!

TREASURE AND TAROT is the first book in the Echoes of Secret Springs series, and we begin with Sebastian and Colton. Sebastian is the omega who was left holding the baby, seemingly abandoned; Colton is the alpha who walked away, intending to return, but never did - and you find out why on both sides of the story!

This is a spin-off from Minerva Howe's Secret Springs series, which I haven't read. I get the feeling I might have enjoyed this book more if I had, but I was still able to read their story without too much trouble. My biggest problem was figuring out which town they were speaking about.

Colton and Sebastian's second-chance romance was a wonderful story, with plenty of ghostly action, romance, and cuteness to spare. Their daughter, Abby, wins everyone's hearts, and I loved the big group of supporting characters. I am stuck between a rock and a hard place over which one I want a story for first.

Just as an aside, for some reason, I thought Tarot might play a bigger part than it did. I'm not saying it's bad the way it is, just that I thought there'd be more. 😆

Anyway, I read this in one sitting and hope to return to this ghostly town, whatever it's called. Definitely recommended by me.

CHIMERA'S PRISONER is the sixth book in the Prime Omegaverse series, and if you haven't figured it out yet, the trigger warnings are there for a reason. This is a dark monster romance with dub-con. If that's not your thing, move along.

Amelia is a nurse who has been captured by the felines for transportation to a breeding centre. Funnily enough, she's none too keen on the idea. When Mother Nature sends a storm to help out, she is quick to take advantage. Unfortunately for her, Vex is flying overhead, patrolling his territory, when he spots her and scents her.

I loved Vex! Yes, he was an Alpha, but he also had a heart. And although he knew from the beginning that Amelia was his, he wasn't obnoxious about it either, unlike some of the others I've read.

With some high heat, this story also had emotions, connections, and action. The Council are none too pleased with Vex claiming Amelia and will do anything to retrieve her.

I wasn't too keen on the last book, but I did enjoy this one a lot more. Chapter 16 was repeated in my copy, but on the whole, there were fewer repetitions than in previous stories. I am hoping for all the stories to connect at some point, but am enjoying the different scenarios as they each conclude.

OMEGA CAPTIVE OF THE GOLDEN DRAGON is the third book in the Alpha Dragons series, but it can easily be read as a standalone.

It is a sweet, slow-burning story that doesn't start off so well for either of our main characters. At nineteen, Caylen finds out he is a set-omega in a wolf pack, which means he will be sold. Varik, however, has it even worse. He is a golden dragon, who are hunted for their scales. Instead of protecting him, his parents keep him in a cage and forcibly take his scales. This goes on for years, until he is rescued by his brother. It is his brother also also rescues/buys Caylen and brings the two of them together.

This is full of emotions, and my heart broke along with Caylen's at one point in the story. Actually, at more than one point, but you get my meaning. It is steamy in places where it needs to be, but mostly it is about the connection between Caylen, Varik, and Varikan.

Smoothly written with a fast-ish pace, this was a brilliant read that I thoroughly enjoyed. The epilogue was perfect, and I enjoyed the snapshot into their later lives. Although dealing with some not-so-nice topics to begin with, this book gave me the warm fuzzies. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.
