I wouldn't call this an enemy to lover story, as it is their RACES that are at war, not each other. Yes, they have a misunderstanding, but nothing that isn't easily resolved. I enjoyed seeing how they both knew what punishments would work best for their own, and they weren't afraid to punish those responsible. This is the first book, so there is a lot of world-building, and a hint of more story to come (crazy human scientists).
This was an easy read, with it being well-written and evenly paced. There are some steamy moments in there, and the hint of more than one story yet to come. A great start to the series, and definitely recommended by me.

Sorely disappointed in this book. I was hoping that maybe, just maybe I could escape the overbearing Alpha male trope. But alas I was sorely mistaken. From the very beginning Ari is a Alpha male through and through, and not in a good way. I am sure he was supposed to be dark and brooding, but I quickly lost patience with him. It was around the third time he picked Daphne up to carry her around that my mood turned sour and never sweetened. While Benjy was better, I found that, after a while, his playful antics seemed more childish than endearing.
I wanted to like this novel, but I just couldnt get behind it. The chemistry seemed forced and though it actually had an in depth plot, it wasnt one I could care about. The author does have a good writing style that flows easily. My problem was with the story itself, not the writing.

I absolutely loved it. The sex scenes are hot and so well done, the characters are really good and I just adore Minaeven more now she a a hot demon side too. Sometimes a female lead can become irritating but not here. Lexie is quite aggressive in her writing and also very honest and I think that’s refreshing. I loved book one too so can’t to read book 3!
