Merissa (13169 KP) rated Shifter Woods: Claw (Esposito County Shifters #4) in Books

SHIFTER WOODS: CLAW is the fourth book in the Esposito County Shifters series, and this time we have a wolf shifter/human who has never shifted, and the Alpha of the Esposito Wolf Pack. Matt recognises Angela, or at least, she reminds him of someone but can't think of from when. As for Angela, she's just too busy trying to stay out of Bryce's abusive clutches.
Their relationship moves a little slowly as they both learn about each other, including just who Angela is. Once they get it on though, the steam is most definitely there!
Along with Bryce, you also get the ambitious she-wolf who wants the Alpha for herself. Angela deals with that with aplomb, as well as finding long-lost family and settling in with the Pack.
I enjoyed this story and feel like it is a coffee-break book. Anything by Nicola Cameron is guaranteed to be a good read and this is no exception. Definitely recommended by me.

Obsessed book reviews (49 KP) rated Rule Changer in Books

This is the third book in this series by this author. I have only read this book in the series but I'll definitely be going back to read the others to get a better understanding of the story. This is a action packed, roller coaster of a ride book. This book will take you on a emotional ride with some of the scenes in the book. The characters are just perfect, a strong female mixed with a alpha male. I can't wait to read more in this series in the future.

ArecRain (8 KP) rated Preyfinders (Preyfinders, #1-3) in Books

Wow what a ride. Ever since reading Andersons Claimed, I have been jonsing for a good alien romance without all the cheese and ridiculousness. This series was exactly what I needed. It has everything, being both steamy and romantic with the plot able to carry itself. Each couples was different from each other in both personality and dynamic. Each one took you on a separate journey and I was in love with each in every one. I will add the disclaimer that if you arent into rough sex and alpha males, then you should skip this one.

ArecRain (8 KP) rated Fatal Pursuit (Aegis, #3) in Books

I usually dont read novels like this, and this book reminded me of exactly why! The male lead was so alpha male that it was obnoxious and insulting to me as a female. The female lead was just as frustrating, but maybe thats because shes the stereotypical strong female lead. Both characters were so frustrating and cliché that I almost couldnt finish the book. Despite this, I actually enjoyed the story itself. Even though her characters made me want to pull my hair out, the author knows how to tell a story.

So part of my childhood growing up in the 70s that I still remember this classic sci fi and according to the show the moon left eatrth orbit 13th September 1999 which would make it 20 years ago on Friday just been the effects are abit outdated by today's standards but that's part of its charm. Top notch acting from both Martin Landau and Barbara bain as the leads. And been remade on audio recently by big finish productions which I'm going to listening too in the future

Darren (1599 KP) rated Alpha (2018) in Movies
Jun 20, 2019
Story: Alpha starts as we meet Keda (Smit-McPhee) a young man and member of a prehistoric tribe, this is his chance to go on the hunt with the chief and his father Tau (Johannesson) to complete his path to manhood in the tribe, along with the other recruits, the week doesn’t end well for the young man when he becomes separated from his tribe.
Keda must find his tribe while dealing with the perils of the wilderness including the wolves, one of which he rescues making an unlikely friendship in the harsh world he is travelling through.
Thoughts on Alpha
Characters – Keda is the young man, the son of the chief of his tribe, he must go on his first hunt which only leaves him alone in the world. he must earn fast how to survive this environment with his caring nature showing with a wounded wolf that he nurses back to help. Alpha is the wolf that was hunting Keda, only to get wounded, she sticks around after being nursed back to health which brings her a new connection, one with a human. The two remain loyal to each other through the bitter winter which will test both of them. Tau is the chief of the tribe and father to Keda, he wants his son to follow in his footsteps showing strength to the rest of the tribe and wisdom to his son.
Performances – Kodi Smit-McPhee is fantastic in the leading role, he has to go through such a physical performance while balancing the emotion impact of believing he could be alone in the world. he does have to deal with most of the work in this film and the connect he has with the wolf. The supporting cast is good with what they need to do without having to do as much as Kodi.
Story – The story follows one young man that gets separated from his tribe and must figure out how to get home, making a new friend along the way, a wolf. This does follow the survival story very clearly and the bond between man and animal starts coming through during the film. even with the formulaic storyline you are kept on edge through out as we want to see if Keda and Alpha can make it home. The connection between the two makes us see how humans and wolfs became one together. The simple story is what keeps us happy.
Adventure/Family – The adventure takes Keda who is part of the tribe through the prehistoric world with threats that a solo man would be struggling to survive through. This does have moments that would be slightly too dark for the younger family audience.
Settings – The world created is beautiful, we have the open plains to the snow filled background each condition becomes more difficult as we go on the adventure.
Special Effects – The effects are strong for the most part, we do have moments that are not good but for the scale of the film should be applauded for the world we see.
Scene of the Movie – The tiger attack.
That Moment That Annoyed Me – Not understanding the bison hunt.
Final Thoughts – This is a visual treat for the audience with a connection between man and dog that is fantastic to see, the story might be generic but it works well.
Overall: Entertaining adventure
