Heather Cranmer (2721 KP) rated One Breath Away in Books

Wow, wow, wow! This book was very gripping! I loved the way the main characters had their own points of view as chapters. The whole plot was amazing. I can not think of one bad thing to say about this book. I'm definitely going to give Heather Gudenkauf's other books a read now as I believe she is a brilliant writer. This book is so emotional, and I would've never guessed the gunman's identity at the end. What a shocker!

Okay, this book is easily taking my best of the year humor & biography. Anna Kendrick wrote this book just like she tweets. It's hilarious and extremely entertaining.
I listened to the audiobook and I was not disappointed. Anna Kendrick reads it herself and is just amazing. He stories were thought provoking, humorous, a tad embarrassing, and just a great read.
If you're looking for a great audiobook/book, this is for you. I was laughing constantly and I could not put it down.

Overall not a bad book - I really enjoyed listening to it over reading - I like the back stories now of those that are at the home, etc. - The twins were actually some of my favourite children in book 1 so getting to know them and their past and their door was actually pretty amazing - I kept getting confused between Jack/Jill I won't lie - and unexpected romance of sorts happened too and I am living - can't wait to continue the series

Forced to deal with her own deep dark fears and the wave for pain in which her twin brother has created Mara stumbles, falls, and gets back up again to find her own voice in this incredible and extremely relevant tale. A strong message for girls I loved this book

Inspirational. Emotional. This is a powerful 4 star read!
Truly inspirational book which tells of the power of love between a mother and her children.
Reading this you soon realise that Cara Brookins accomplished something so incredible following years of abuse. I found myself laughing, crying and at times biting my nails in horror at each inspiration chapter of this amazing family rise from their ruined old lives.
Thanks to NetGalley and St Martin’s Press for the advanced copy of this book.

Emotional rollercoster
Contains spoilers, click to show
I knew who queen are and thought I knew who freddie was but this showed me the highs and many lows of his life and through it all the amazing music of queen.i have seen some reviews where they criticised the lip syncing but you don't really notice it and the lead has really manages to capture Freddie I wouldnt expect an actor to also be able to sing like Freddie.
Overall a really emotional film and really worth a watch.

An intricate new magical world (2 more)
Realistic characters
Fantastic heroine
The start of an amazing series
In a world where magic and power go hand in hand, what happens when the balance is shifted? The detail of the world, it's magic and the rules that govern the citizens is fantastic and totally engrossing. So glad that there are now several series all tying in to this one so that you can keep on reading and losing yourself in an alternative world.

Forced Doctor Connection
Surprisingly Amazing
I was pleasantly surprised finding that I actually really enjoyed this series. As someone who enjoyed the previous spin offs from Doctor Who I found that I actually almost liked this better than even Torchwood. It was clear to mehowever that theconnection to Doctor Who seemed a little forced and almost unnecessary as the series could easily have stood on it's own as a really good TV show.

I love everything about this series: the world building, the characters (there are some seriously evil people in this!), and the artwork is stunning (thanks to Sana Takeda, the illustrator) . This series takes me twice as long to read, purely because of the need to look at the detail in the pictures. Marjorie and Sana make such an amazing team: the imagination of these women is phenomenal. I will be preordering the next volume in the series as soon as is humanly possible!
