Killing themselves w that name
I didnt get the opportunity to see this show until this year after someone said I had to watch it. The name threw me off everytime it was a suggested watch. Its a drama with amazing sets and acting and story. It reminds me of Yellowstone in a lot of ways. Exceptional script and direction. The seasons go on and on and you soon understand that you never can tell how a certain character will act. Twists every episode.

Beautiful and heartwarming

This beautiful short story is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Vicki and Nicholas, both amazing people, both struggled with self-confidence for different reasons. Their meeting is a definite meet cute and is just the start of sweet story that combines romance and surprises.

This is perfect for a chilled out afternoon. By the end I was wanting more, I'd love to delve a little deeper, see where things go from where we left off.
I'm thrilled that this is part of the In Darkness series, more supernatural stories to enthrall and delight!

*This review is from my blog and originally published in 2012*

This is going to be a hard review for me to write. No,no, it’s not a bad book. It’s one of my favorites. It’s bittersweet because this is the ending to one of my favorite Christian Fiction series. I fell in love with Ms. Lessman’s work when I read book 1 in this series, A Hope Undaunted. Ironically, it’s not the first in the O’Connor clans stories…there was a series previously written called The Daughters Of Boston. This particular series is so emotionally moving, so deeply intense that you get to become a part of the story. You can feel yourself being pulled deep into the heart of the story, becoming the characters, feeling every pain, every laugh, and every tear drop that falls. It’s absolutely an amazing feeling when reading a Julie Lessman novel.

I’ve been dying to read this book. This one is Steven O’Connor’s story. He’s the baby boy of the O’Connor family and, while I adored each of the others that I read about, I felt that Steven was the most deserving of having his story told. He was quietly awaiting his turn through out all the other books and it’s finally here! And oh what a turn it is! We get a bit of background on Steven in the other books, having a broken relationship with his ex fiance. Now, he’s a respectable man of the law and 25 years old. What he’s not expecting is for the arrival of Annie, a young impressionable girl of 17…..and his former fiance’s baby sister. Or the protectiveness he feels for her.

Susannah “Annie” Kennedy has left her home in Iowa to move on from her past and embrace a future in Boston. Her parents are dead now, her sister has raved about Boston and she’s ready to embrace a life out side of her straight and narrow past. When an circumstance arises and Annie finds herself face to face with Steven O’Connor, her sisters ex, she’s embarrassed…..and highly attracted to him! There’s just one little problem with that….he doesn’t realize that she’s Maggie’s baby sister.

Watching as these two came to terms with their past, and seeking forgiveness to over come it, and move on to a life filled with love and happiness was absolutely tear jerking! I loved every minute of this amazing 5 Book conclusion to my favorite series. Ms. Lessman kept the intensity woven through out as she did with the previous books. Her messages of forgiveness, letting go and seeking His love are just as strong and sweep through the reader instantly. If you love passion, if you love heartbreaking redemption and amazing historic detail, then look no further than the author who can create an unforgettable, un-put-downable novel that will spin the readers mind out of control. Well done Ms. Lessman and I am anxious to see what you have in story for your fans next…will we get glimpses of the O’Connor’s? Will we get to fall in love with another amazing family? Keep up the amazing writing, Ms. Lessman!

Outstanding animation (2 more)
Some of the shorts are amazing
I wish there would be more products like this
Other shorts where very dull and boring (3 more)
Sometimes it's style over substance
Too edgy in some parts
Some of the shorts look like commercial for videogame
Uff this is gonna be though to review
"Love Death & Robot" is an anthology of adult animated shorts. It features 18 shorts of different lenght with the common theme being the sci-fi.
The problem of reviewing a product like this is that the episodes are all so different to each other and the quality is too vary.
On a technical point of view, every shorts are amazing. The animation feels great in every style it is portrayed, either 2D or 3D. The quality of the shots, the models and basically every visual elements are simply gorgeous.
However that doesn't mean that the short themselves are by default good. The ones that are super realistic, like "Beyond the Aquila Rift" and "Lucky 13", just make you wonder why they didn't used real actors instead. This two in particular doesn't really benefit for being animated. For comparison, "Ice Age" uses real actors and the CG is contained in the special effects and it works perfectly. Oh and "Lucky 13" is just plain bad on top of that.
Then there are the shorts with amazing visual styles but with quite dull story. "The Witness" is the one that comes to mind using clever use of compositing (the implementation of CG elements in a realistic environment) and having a nice character design with excellent animation. However it feels pretentious because it doesn't say anything really interesting and it focus more on sexual visual rather than a story, with a nonsensical twist nevertheless. Style over substance.
Other shorts instead feels like watching a cinematic for a videogame, pilot for different series or University students showreel. This doesn't mean they are bad but it just feels a bit underwhelming.
However when a short is good, it's really good! The one that are always left me with a smile on my face and with an overall excitement, eager to see what was coming next or more works from these studios. "Three Robots" is definitely one of my favourite short thanks to the amazing visuals, clever dialogues and an interesting lore.
My main criticism that involves mostly all the shorts is the supposed maturity, especially in the use of sex and violence.. I am not against the use of them by any means. However using them just for the sake of it doesn't make your product automatically mature. It just felt edgy, the equivalent of a goth teenagers that watch gory movies just because "uuhhh so taboo".
I know that animation is still perceived as a product for children and I am always happy to see new ones that wants to focus on a more mature audience. I don't think though that you can do it with just the use of swear words, sex and violence without any substance in it.
I want to see more actually mature animations, with compelling stories and amazing styles, using animation as a media and not as a genre.

Phenomenal
This show is amazing. If binge watching TV shows was an Olympic sport, I would certainly be in contention to represent my country, but I haven't sat down and watched the first episode of a show and then remained firmly on my arse until I'd watched the entire season since I discovered Game of Thrones.

Everything about this show reeled me in immediately. The opening theme, the cast and the portrayal of their characters, the storyline and the way it unraveled in front of me... A very special chord that was struck with me (punny!) was the soundtrack - that moment when I was entirely engrossed in what I was seeing and the fleeting thought of "Hey that sounds like Paint It Black..." then having the realisation that it WAS Paint It Black left me in love with this show from the very get go.

I recommend this show at every possible opportunity as something that should be watched sometime between immediately and ASAFP.

Flawless movie
Baby Driver is everything I want in a movie. A movie set to music is literally what I dream of because we only ever see it in trailers but never in movies, for example the Suicide Squad trailer used Bohemian Rapsody very well but the actual film was awful. This movie however lived up to the hype of the trailers and delivered more than anyone could have asked for.
It's not very often that a film hooks you right from the offset and doesn't let up the entire time but this film does. In my opinion it features some of the best directing, best editing and best use of soundtrack ever in film history. I'd be very surprised if it doesn't get some awards buzz because it truly deserves it. There is very little wrong with this movie because it's just amazing. Really really amazing and if you don't want to go see it again immediately after coming out of the screening, there's something wrong with you.
Go see it for a guaranteed good time and you'll have the soundtrack stuck in your head for a long time !
