I am a huge fan of Amy, so I was looking forward to this documentary. I really liked it, but it just left me feeling really sad.

A Decent Introduction to Amy Cross
This was the book that got me into Amy Cross, despite not being a fan of horror in general. Since reading this, I now have over a dozen of her books. She made a unique combination of the fantasy and horror genres with this book. One of her stranger books, but a good read over all.

It made me laugh, what can I say
This is not some award winning piece of film, this was meant to be a comedy and it was. I have always been a fan of Goldie Hawn fan, going way back to Overboard and Private Benjamin. Amy Schumer is funny as hell and she makes me laugh. Not the a movie that made me have to pee my pants but it did make me laugh from time to time and I enjoyed the interaction between Hawn and Schumer.
Definitely worth watching if you can catch it streaming.

Erika Kehlet (21 KP) rated The Calamity Café (Down South Café Mystery #1) in Books

Amys dream is to open a cafe in town, whether she buys Lou Lous existing place or builds her own. Just as she thinks things are starting to go her way, she finds the competition dead, and finds herself on the list of suspects. The victim was unpleasant enough to provide Amy and her pals with a town full of suspects to investigate to try to clear her name.
I liked Amy, her family and friends, the Down South Cafe, and just about everything about this new series. If youre a fan of culinary mysteries, the talk of southern cuisine will have your mouth watering while you try to deduce who killed Lou Lou.

This is not a hilarious book... Sure, I laughed out loud at parts, but it's a serious novel touching on serious issues. I was hooked by chapter one and seriously loved Amy Schumer more and more as I read on (I am NOT a fan of her show or comedy). She seriously stole my heart. I cried more than once and am touched by how genuine she is.
