"His writing, like his thinking, is so clear and beautiful, always eloquent and elegant even when he is writing, as here, about race and religion. There is anger, of course, but somehow he also manages to be witty, and so, so clever. I always imagine he must have been brilliant company."

"An extraordinary book by an extraordinarily powerful poet. Clifton writes about the body and the state of womanhood like no other. Like the other poets I've mentioned on this list, Clifton doesn't suffer any fools in her writing and always goes straight for the jugular when talking about race, feminism, love and anger."

"Terry Gilliam does nothing by half measures, and Brazil is no exception. This hallucinatory take on George Orwell’s pessimistic and prophetic book 1984 is a marvel of black comedy and yet somehow embodies the anger and despair of the original. Astonishing to look at and sometimes chilling, this is one of Gilliam’s best films."

Hmm...this has three stars for different reasons to the first. The first one I was confused with all the intrigue and anger and sex going on. I didn't understand the anger and the lack of reasoning behind it.

This one was more to do with the fact that about 50% of it took place behind bars. It seemed to go off on a tangent, and one I really wasn't all that bothered about. I wanted happy Elle and Penn, and it didn't happen until the last 20% or so and even that wasn't all happy.

I'm not sure if I'll be in a hurry to read more of the authors books for a while as I need to be in the mood for these dark stories.

It’s a salve for anyone who’s been trying to get free, and particularly anyone who’s gotten yelled at for it. Bognanno puts her anger on full display, inviting everyone who’s felt the same to join in and scream along.

This is the second book in the broken series and was just as good as the first one. There is humour, happiness, sadness, drama, romance, heat. I went through every possible emotion reading this book, including anger at the frustrating cliff hanger. I was on the edge of my seat and can't wait to read the next book!

"And then one of the most inspirational films for an actor would, in my opinion, have to be Raging Bull. Just to see what De Niro went through physically, the span of time he takes that character through, the insecurity and the bravado and the anger. I think it’s still a performance that’s relatively unmatched in film history."

Enjoyed the book. The book is beautiful and clever, emotionally wrought and profoundly intelligent it will pull the reader into its wise world of jealousy, paranoia, grief, revenge and forgiveness in the stunning prose; however, I would like to add that the author could have conveyed its character Leo's anger and message across without the heavy use of foul language.
