First book I ever read by Jodi Picoult which lead me to read as many of her other books as I could find. The story has really stuck with me and I find myself thinking about it months after I've read it. This book made me feel crazy amounts of sadness and anger, and I think it will stick with others after they have read it.

Anthony Trombetta (3 KP) rated Patriots Day (2016) in Movies

Storytelling in the Raw
The Director, Peter Berg, has always done his due diligence in providing the most accurate means of storytelling when it comes to films based on real events, however harsh or offensive they might be. Patriots Day can fill you with anger, sadness, joy or hope, sometimes all at once, which is precisely the task of the director and crew....feeling.

Tahereh never disappoints! I felt so much throughout this whole book: anger, sadness, disbelief, disgust, hatred, love, happiness... It was definitely information overload and I was surprised at how everything fit together, despite being given to us in pieces. Reading Defy Me makes me want to start the series over, I can never get enough of Warner and Juliette (and yes, that's how I still think of them!)

Joy, Anger, Fear, Sadness and Disgust
Well, that was a brave move by Disney Pixar.
Remember the old Beano/Dandy cartoon The Numskulls? This takes a superficially similar approach, following the emotions (who are given form) of a young girl named Riley after her family move to a new city.
Typical top-notch animation with a message at its core - in this case, that every emotion (even Sadness) has its place - from Pixar

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2103 KP) rated Respectable Sins: Confronting the Sins We Tolerate in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Just because you've never murdered anyone doesn't mean you aren't still sinning every day. This book looks at some sins that Christian ignore in their own lives (envy, anger, worry, impatience), shows exactly why they are sin, and challenges us to confess and repent. This is a powerful book that will convict you. Pick it up today.
