this is the first book by this author that I've read and this book had me hooked from the first page. this book has fantastic characters which helps the story flow at a nice pace through out the book. the characters relationship unfolds with every page that you read, making the story get better and better. the story line is well written with some witty and humours moments. this book had me hooked from the first page and I couldn't put it down, when id finished it I was wanting more. I would really love to read more from this author in the future

Jessica Erdas (463 KP) rated The Laughing Corpse (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #2) in Books

A real page turner. I found it hard to put down and was reading it every time I had a little break. Although, there are a lot of repeats in description, actions, and even dialogue from the first book (I grew a little tired of the repeated telling of "sweat running down her spine", or the "Anita nodded but realized so and so couldn't see and then spoke") but it was still enjoyable. I was a little disappointed that Jean-Claude didn't make as much of an appearance in this story but hoping for more in the next one.
