A giant leap for mankind?
It's the Apollo 11 mission. That's it. No annoying voiceover from Clooney or Gosling spouting truisms (provided you ignore Walter Kronkite's occasional excellent and sonorous TV commentary). Just extraordinary footage from July 1969 of the 8 day mission and the days immediately preceeding (and in the end titles, following) that historic event.

A brilliant documentary that deserves to be seen at the cinema, and on as big a screen as you can manage to find. It only seems to have a limited UK release (I saw it at our local Picturehouse cinema), but it is really worth going out of your way to catch if you can. A film that properly provides you with a view of our blue oasis of a world from afar: and critically what we might be doing to it.

I also thought it should make humanity feel rather ashamed of itself: if man took those great leaps in the 10 years after JFK's famous speech, what has really been achieved in manned space travel in the 50 years since? On Earth's report card it should say "C- .... could do better".

Ares is mine ( Gods and Monsters book 3)
By Mila Young

I'm a Hero. Created to fight Chaos. Sworn to act as Zeus' spear to avenge Olympus.

And I need to fight harder.

When death comes for those I love, I fight. And despite the radiant love of Apollo and the swelling love of Poseidon, I must find room to embrace war. That means getting close to Ares.

To win a war you need allies you can trust and who trust each other. Apollo, Poseidon, and Ares don't see eye to eye at the best of times. Throw my deepening love for each of them into the mix and it seems impossible. I need to convince all of them we're on the same side, and war makes for strange bedfellows.
Then there's Hades. He might be the key to our success, or the trigger for our doom. But he triggers the best and worst in me, and I can't help but melt into his darkness.

Can a brooding vicious war god help me to fight this war across multiple fronts. Can the god of war even show love? Ares is Mine.

Elyse is back!! Kick I king ass and we got some double God action gotta say kinda hot!! I love these books can’t believe Hades is the last one and I’m hoping he gets some love he’s my favourite misunderstood God! By the way Zeus sucks!!!

At Attention (Out of Uniform #2) by Annabeth Albert
At Attention is the second book in the Out of Uniform series, and we reunite with Lieutenant Apollo Floros, who we met in Zack and Pike's story. We learn more about his past - how he is a grieving widower with two young twin daughters. He is existing with his life, not living it. When a friend asks him for a favour, he looks for a thousand different ways out of it, before he capitulates ungraciously.

That is the build up to a slow-burning, gut-churning, emotion-packed story that will get you right in the feels. There is no 'bad guy' in this, just a young hopeful man, and an older, grieving one, who just can't move past his pain. I really felt for Dylan, but couldn't bring myself to hate Apollo either, although I did want to whomp him upside the head a few times.

Saying that, there was plenty of heat in here, more than enough to keep me happy! The story didn't suffer for the steamy times though. Everything was in the right place, when it needed to be said or done. Kept on tenterhooks right to the end, I adored this book. I also loved the small cameos from Zack and Pike. So nice to see them still in love.

I have no hesitation in recommending this book, or the series, as I am absolutely loving it.
