Erika (17789 KP) rated Crimson Peak (2015) in Movies

I feel kind of bad for Crimson Peak, for one, it was marketed completely wrong. Universal marketed it as though it was a horror movie, when it couldn't really be farther from it. The inspiration for it was Rebecca and the Mysteries of Udolpho, it was a gothic romance. I liked Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska in it, but Jessica Chastain... I have nothing nice to say about her performance.
The twist was.... creepy. I can't help but wonder what the film would have been like if Benedict Cumberbatch hadn't dropped out.

This drama/ thriller on Netflix(not exclusive) want too bad. The cinematography and acting were just ok, but the story was creepy enough to keep your interest. It's a "crazy babysitter" movie. I don't give the ending away but it definitely would make you double think who you leave your kids with in a night out. The kids were cute sings did pretty well for their ages. The main character(babysitter) definitely played the "creepy" part well, too. This one isn't the greatest film you'll see but it's worth a watch.

A rip off of, the King of comedy
A great performance from Joaquin Phoenix is not enough to save this movie from being very average. I thought it was too similar to a lot of Martin Scorsese movies from the 70/80s, like Taxi driver and, The king of Comedy. This was a good film but, I felt like I’d seen it all before. I thought this was a bad attempt at replicating better films such as the King of Comedy.

Giving this film a rating of 1 is much more than it deserves. An absolute mess of a film from minute one, dialogue that was probably written by a 4 year old..ridiculous unscary monsters and actors with as much charisma and personality as a broken teapot.
The previous Doom movie they did was pretty bad but compared to this it's an oscar winning masterpiece.I dont know what possessed me to watch this but hope this review will make sure others avoid the torture of this film.

Brilliant performance by Redmayne who uncannily resembles a young Hawking.
The two leads shore up a movie that at times seem s a tad predictable which is amazing since Redmayne had never had a lead role prior to this.
The onscreen chemistry in this heartbreaking story is believable and tangible, however I think the film should have touched more on Hawkings love and passion for science, but feels more like a love story which isn't a bad thing.
An engaging story of love that is worth your time.

Not a bad return to form for the horror genre, it had moments that made me chuckle but I saw the twist coming a mile off.
Much of the movie is filmed at night the reasons for this are obvious and plot driven but made it difficult to understand and see much of what was going on, but doesn't completely ruin your enjoyment.
It's a hark back to what makes horror such a great genre and although I guessed the outcome it was an enjoyable ride to the finish.. very good!

Watched today after so many not so great transformers movies with revenge of the fallen being the best sequel followed by bumblebee next best and now rise of the beasts the third best. Anyway the plot is self-explanatory u got good robots and bad robots who change into all manner of beasts and cars and trucks with Peter Cullen back again as optimus prime still the definitive prime in my opinion and I'm sticking with it if this is your type of movie go watch

A pleasure to be the first one to rate this so it can have a solid 1/10.
I saw the first 20 minutes so I think I can successfully say I watched enough of this trash to know that it was indeed TRASH. Everyone has shit on this enough already but I will take this opportunity to SHIT ON IT MORE. THIS IS AWFUL IN EVERY SINGLE WAY AND COULD HAVE SINGLEHANDEDLY DESTROYED THE VIDEO GAME MOVIE GENRE (Not that that would have been the worst thing of all time). BAD.

Admittedly I am normally really sceptical when it comes to movies on the Syfy channel but I've got to confess I loved watching this movie. Having being besotted with all things King Arthur forever I was happy to see a film with a different spin on the legend. Alright if you can get past the cheesy graphics and notably bad costumes at times for Morganna Le Fay and Mordred in modern day Bangkok it is a pretty class movie. When the descendant of Arthur Pendragon doesn't believe in the stories he's descended from the line of Arthur it all kicks off from there. Yet the best part is when Mordred has an opportunity to redeem himself for a lifetime of mistakes.
