Still unsatisfying
This second London-based book sees Howard and Hubcap on their way into London. They stumble across a strange scene at a supermarket and find themselves the hostages of a private army of a post-apocalyptic drug dealer, whose experiments are going wrong more by the day.
The book was as short as the others but again had next to no real plot or purpose, other than people getting in a situation and getting out of it again. We do start to see some of the New World Order type rich people running the world, post-Change, which is built on in later books, but again there is no real insight into the world, the change, Howard's background or where his dreams suggest he has to go. I hope the final, Tokyo-based book closes this all off or I will be a little miffed.

Awesome
I loved this book great story, lots of suspense and thrills, a real page turner, great characters. Couldn't put it down. Based on a small cruise when something strange is seen and the resulting events when the crew and guests are questioned. There's so much more but didn't want to post spoilers.

Fantastic
Based on the book by Neil Gaiman, this series visits various Old Gods who are in competition with the New Gods.

After being released from prison and having a less-than-pleasant homecoming, Shadow Moon becomes a willing participant in Mr. Wednesday's plan.

Wasn't sure what to expect
Picking this at random, I wasn't sure what to expect as it is loosely based on a Stephen King book and I have never been a big fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed all the seasons but felt it had run its course by the end.

This is about a girl that moves often because of the dad job. She doe not like having to move from one city to the next and leaving her friend and missing school, just after getting settled in a city.

This diary starts out in Washington DC, it set in Washington DC until they move to Hawaii. The rest of the book is about her getting use to Oahu, Hawaii her new home. In the book she experiences the attack on Pearl Harbor. Her brother Andy and Amber see Japanese Plane flying over Early Sunday Morning. Amber does make a friend name Kame.

The book tell you about the history of the Attack on Pearl Harbor though the young girl in the story. This is another book in the series of Dear America. It based on the real thing. If you enjoy History, this is good book along with it good for young reader and Children.

Book Favorite

"Some say Jay McInerney partied too much and it hurt his output, but the fact that the party produced this brilliant, hysterically funny description of the party makes the partying worth it in my book. That the novel’s narrator is based on a young woman who, I’ve heard lately, grew up to become John Edwards’ mistress of course only makes it better."

he topic for this months book club pick, was a book made into a movie. And since I bought this book years ago I thought I would read it.
What a disappointment.
I thought it was going to be loosely based on the classic novel by Jane Austen, when in actuality it's her novel word for word, but with a few zombies thrown in for good measure....oh and also ninjas, because that makes sense.
I thought this book had quite a good sense of premise about it, but come on get a bit of originality.
I wouldn't particularly reccomend this book.

Maine style Dracula
2nd book from the great man based around vampires. Good story with decent characters and King already has found the ease of a seasoned writer as you are hooked very early on. As usual the book is better than the movie/TV series although that's worth a watch as it has David Soul (70's heart throb from Starsky & Hutch)as one of the leads.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a light read in the sense that there was not a lot of drama. Oh, there was some drama but it wasn't hard-core. The book is based in a community called Nagog in Massachusetts. This fictional town is loosely based on the town of Acton, MA, which has a community called Nagog Woods. It tells the story of Heather, who buys a house in a "retirement" community and the bonds she forges with 2 of the residents there, along with the grandson of another resident. Victoria, one of the ladies Heather bonds with, also tells her story in parallel to Heather's story. Great read!
