Acting is not amazing
Not the best movie based on a Nicholas Sparks novel I have seen
Probably the least informative review I will make, mainly because I am naturally biased to be for anything Nicholas Sparks. But this bored me, which was a weird idea, because nothing bores me. The story is good, it was just portrayed in a weak manner.

The way the various stories cross over
The visual look of the film
Comic book comes to life
A very stylish film based on a graphic novel, the film has a largely monochrome look which works well with the comic element. The film consists of a few stories that cross paths in Sin city. All of them are very good as well as the main story piecing them together. Very original.

Now I have to say that I’ve been looking forward to seeing The Meg ever since I first saw the trailer a while back and at the time I had no idea that the movie was based on a series of books by Steve Alten, with this movie based on the first book, “MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror“, suffice to say I’ll be grabbing some of them to read very soon. Shark movies have become a little stale of the last few years and to be honest they have never thrilled me as much as Jaws, but The Meg certainly adds a whole new twist to the shark movie.

This is one of my most favourite books. I’ve recommended it to friends and family to read, I’ve even bought it as presents for them. I loved it. It’s one of those books that you can become completely immersed in. I really empathised with the hardships, bravery and courage of the characters. This was the first Kristin Hannah novel I read, and I’m so glad I picked it up (yet another of my choices based purely on the cover!). I’ve never been a big war novel fan, but this caught my imagination from the outset. Well worth reading!!
