The Lords of the North ( The Last Kingdom 3)
By Bernard Cornwell
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The year is 878 and the Vikings have been thrown out of Wessex. Uhtred, fresh from fighting for Alfred in the battle to free Wessex, travels north to seek revenge for his father's death, killed in a bloody raid by Uhtred's old enemy, renegade Danish lord, Kjartan. While Kjartan lurks in his formidable stronghold of Dunholm, the north is overrun by chaos, rebellion and fear. Together with a small band of warriors, Uhtred plans his attack on his enemy, revenge fuelling his anger, resolute on bloody retribution. But, he finds himself betrayed and ends up on a desperate slave voyage to Iceland. Rescued by a remarkable alliance of old friends and enemies, he and his allies, together with Alfred the Great, are free to fight once more in a battle for power, glory and honour.
Another really good book in this series I think this is my favourite so far. Uthred is a sold as a slave and we follow his journey. So glad there is a directory at the start of the book these places get a little confusing.

Can Lia Knit Together the Clues from Another Knotty Murder?
Lia Geiger’s normal weekend craft fair is looking a bit different thanks to a Civil War reenactment taking place on the property. She’s looking forward to it, although she quickly learns that there has been a recent power struggle in the group of reenactors. When the smoke on the battle clears, the dead body of Arden Sprouse is discovered. He was the one most responsible for the conflicts in the group. Unfortunately, suspicion has fallen on Lia’s neighbor. Can she figure out what really happened during the battle?
I’ve enjoyed this series because I really like Lia and her immediate family and friends. She is a little older than a typical cozy sleuth, which I appreciate. Her relationship with her daughter is a highlight as well. While the suspects are all strong, I wish we’d had more of a reintroduction to the minor characters who populate Lia’s world. The plot is good. I do wish we had gotten shorter clue recaps, but there were several good twists along the way to the logical climax. I also enjoyed some solid sub-plots. The reenactment combined well with the crafting theme. Those who have been enjoying this series will be pleased with the latest entry.

I went to the cinema to watch this and was actually pleasantly pleased as a person who does not tend to watch many DC films this one actually blew me away. This is the first lead female superhero and although it reminded me a bit to much of Captain America it did not matter to much. It was very very well acted and amazing graphics. Also the actual full scale battle itself was not to short or to long like they tend to be in other superhero films. I am thoroughly looking forward to any other films that has wonderwoman in it.

Some great action scenes (2 more)
Cool new characters
Links well to the older films
Deja vu
It's great to see a Star Wars film back on the big screen. It has plenty of action, a good mix of new characters with some old favourites. The Sfx and battle scenes are great. The only disappointment for me, without giving too much away, was that it seemed to take key plotlines and scenes almost straight from the original 3 films and reused them again. Still it's a fun entertaining film and well made to keep the fans happy.

Amazing nod to my childhood
Wow, simple as that!
Was so excited for this film and can safely say it didn't disappoint me. The storyline is brilliant and well thought out. The characters are likeable without being irritating. The most amazing part for me was watching the film over and over looking out for all the hidden characters from my childhood.
The icing on the cake was the epic battle with the Iron Giant, Mecha Godzilla and Gundam Wing!!!!!!!
Must watch for anyone born in 80s or 90s who loves games and fantasy.

While Percy and Annabeth battle through Tartarus to reach a way to get back to our world, the rest of their friends attempt to reach Greece to help them. But with monsters attacking both groups, will anyone make it?
While I wasn't happy with the last book in the series, this one was much better. The plot kept moving forward quickly and all of the main characters got some great development. Fans should be pleased.

Oh my god!! If you have not picked this up and you like fantasy novels, do it right now. Stop what you are doing and read this book!!! It is full of badassery, not too much romantic stuff, and magic. In the battle to find out which person will be crowned the King's Champion, lots of mystery and intrigue happens to our main heroine, Celaena Sandorthien. What is even cooler about this, there are pronunciation guides in the back of the book (at least in the paperback edition). I can't wait to start on the next one!!
