Unity (The Prophecy book 5)
By Jessica Wayne

The death of one of their own will bring about a war unlike any other.

Beaten down, broken, and battle-scarred, Anastasia isn't sure she has what it takes to keep moving forward. Especially when her enemy has corrupted someone she can't afford to lose.

As hidden truths come to the surface, she sets her sights on the one thing that could bring her power unlike any she's ever seen. The only problem is that power could also destroy her.

New enemies and old friends clash to bring back the light back into one of their own.

But death may be the only way to stop it.

I have really enjoyed this series I loved the first 3 books so much the last 2 were ok. Iā€™m not sure they were really needed but despite this they were ok. Ana and Dekota finally get their happy ending and Vincent gets to redeem himself! The last two chapters and epilogue really give you a hero's win good feel. Hope you al enjoy it!

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
2020 | Adventure, Fantasy
The first big superhero movie of the summer arrives - if you're in Australia, anyway. (Cheers, 2020.) The setting has been updated to the mid 1980s, which in no way resembles the present day, of course: Wonder Woman must enter the White House and do battle with a failed businessman, TV personality and con man who has stolen the power of the US presidency. Of course there's a bit more going on to dress this up and stop the cute-little-red-cap crowd from getting pouty and boycotting it, but that's the most striking element of the plot - interesting to see a blockbuster with a political edge to it, even if that edge is somewhat disguised.

Apart from that, this is a good, slick, lively blockbuster, very colourful and with a nicely positive outlook to it. Some of the characterisation perhaps undercuts the film's feminist agenda - Wonder Woman's chief character point is that she's sad because she's got no boyfriend, while assistant villain Cheetah's big issue is basically being jealous of women who can walk in heels - and Chris Pine is an absence of hiatus, as usual, but in every respect this is a decent blockbuster.

This is the second installation in the 07-Ghost series. Teito-Klein is still at the Barsburg Church with the Bishops, learning about the battle between light and dark. His best friend, Mikage, was possessed by evil, his soul taken from him. Teito swears revenge, but the Bishops try to reason with him.

I don't want to include spoilers, but the little dragon that's introduced in this is the cutest thing ever. My boyfriend probably got fed up of me going on about it so much. I just found the whole idea of it coming along after Mikage's death so damn adorable.

Again, I got pretty lost at times. This volume maybe wasn't quite as confusing as the first, but it was still pretty all over the place (in my opinion). I think the art could be clearer and easier to follow - though I do love the art style. And it was easy enough to at least get the general gist of, so that's good.

I'm hoping the next volumes will become even easier to follow. I like the idea and everything though so I think 3 stars is reasonable.

A cover-up that spanned four U.S. Presidents pushed the country's first female newspaper publisher and a hard-driving editor to join an unprecedented battle between the press and the government.

A colleague asked me what I thought of this one and I honestly had to pause before answering. His reaction was "You can't have liked it then!", but actually I did. It was very hard to describe the feeling I got from the film though.

Throughout, Hanks was brilliant, just what you'd expect for this sort of character. For a significant amount of time I really didn't enjoy Streep at all... but actually, that's kind of the point. She's a woman in a man's world, and she hasn't ever really found her feet. It takes a significant amount of the movie to pass before Kay Graham finally grows a backbone and starts to throw her authority around. And that's when I realised that I really was enjoying watching it, and Streep's 180 seemed so real.

Interesting all the way through. Technically accurate? I couldn't say, but then I don't go to the cinema for a history lesson.

Masterpiece
There is little I can say that has not already been said about The Lord of the Rings. It is an epic story of friendship, love, betrayal, war and essentially a coming of age journey. Middle earth and all its inhabitants come alive in your hands...you are transported to a world in chaos, a world of change where nothing is certain. Battle with dwarfs and elves, fight along side men who are impossibly brave and flawed and cry as the tiniest of people carry the biggest of burdens.
This book and the subsequent movies based on the world have been well quoted and are almost inbedded in British culture.
I envy those who haven't read them yet..you have a fantastic journey ahead. It will not be easy (this is not light reading) but it will be more than worth it. Enjoy, and give the elves my love.

G1 is still the best
I was 12 years old when this movie came out. Let me tell you. It still stands up today. This movie had the best Transformers action you have ever seen. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster. Seeing the deaths of some of the Autobots you were accustomed to seeing on the tv show was heart wrenching. Wheeljack, Ironhide, Windcharger and most notably Optimus Prime was hard for a kid my age at the time to see. Even some of the Decepticons. But the ending of this movie will leave you feeling great. The final battle between Prime and Megatron was on for the ages.....UNFORGETTABLE. The voice acting of Leonard Nimoy and Orson Welles was a highlight for me too. Welles voiced Unicorn who was the main planet eating antagonist in the movie, while Nimoy voiced the Decepticon Scourge. With some of the old Autobots from G1 and the newer ones....they overcame the evil of Unicron and Galvatron....who was previously Megatron. I recommend this movie to any Transformer lover
