Merissa (11953 KP) rated Night of Ash (Odriel's Heirs #2.5) in Books
Feb 1, 2023
It's not a long book and you will definitely have to have read at least Idriel's Children before this one but, oh man, it packs a wallop! The writing is so good, I was crying over a character I hardly met! Samar Bhalla is there and gone but what an impact he had. And that, my dears, is how good this author's writing is!
Night of Ash bridges the gap between Idriel's Children and Time Orphan, which I honestly can't wait for. Novellas aren't usually my thing but this one makes no apologies. It is bold and full of action, killing me with emotion. Absolutely fantastic and HIGHLY recommended by me. Just make sure you read the whole series.

Bethr1986 (305 KP) rated Salt & Blood (Darker Desires #2) in Books

Vivianna Sky and Adrian Graves have got a lot of demons to work through with themselves and others. When there is an unexplained phenomenon feeding off the life force of unborn children and expectant mothers, causing their lives and families to fall apart they must do everything they can to stop any more tragedies from happening.
This is book number 2 of the darker desires series, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far and I'm hoping that there is more to come from V and Adrian's story (please Tesla?)
The writing is so smooth it just flows and if I didn't have responsibilities I would of quite happily read this in a day I just wish I could have l the stories at once to read straight after one another.
The battle scenes are extremely well described and graphic and there are some sexual scenes but they are tastefully written and didn't make me feel uncomfortable at any point reading them
Another brilliant novel from Tesla Storm
A recommended read from me

David McK (3372 KP) rated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) in Movies
Jan 8, 2023
He was the original Black Panther.
That meant there was a lot of talk at the time about what Marvel was going to do: re-cast, or not?
The answer was 'not', with a pre-credits sequence in this movie dealing with his (and the characters off-screen) passing, before the usual Marvel logo montage concentrates solely on him.
His on-screen sister Shuri then takes the lead for the rest of this movie, ably supported by on-screen mum Angela Bassett, as the nation of Wakanda struggles to accept his passing and as the rest of the world start looking for their own supplies of Vibranium, encroaching on a secret underwater civilization who then also approach Wakanda with a threat couched as an offer of cooperation.
The loss of T'Challa is felt throughout the movie, with Shuri railing against his passing and unable to accept what has happened for the most part of it, right up until the (somewhat moving) very final scenes of the film.

Harry Potter and The Cursed Child: parts 1&2
(Harry Potter 8 )
By J.K. Rowling , John Tiffany & Jack Thorne
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The official playscript of the original West End production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
It's been nineteen years since Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger saved the wizarding world, and now they're back on a most extraordinary adventure, joined by a brave new generation that's only just arrived at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son, Albus, struggles with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present collide, both father and son are locked in a race through time as they battle mysterious forces, all while the future hangs in the balance.
Ok so it’s as expected I absolutely loved it! For any Harry Potter fan it’s a fab opportunity to have a follow on story and I am now so excited to go see this on stage. I loved the story and being back in the world I’ve known for so many years.
Merissa (11953 KP) rated Amber Flame (Flame #4) in Books
May 20, 2023
Amber Flame is exceedingly well-written, with no editing or grammatical errors that I found, with a smooth pace that builds up to an eventful climax, both for our main male and female, but also for Savage itself. I thoroughly enjoyed every part of this story, and now I'm hoping for Warren to get his story! So many great characters live in the Five Realms, and I want all of their stories! Definitely recommended.
