Felicia (44 KP) rated Won't You Be My Neighbor? (2018) in Movies

This was a beautiful tribute to a man who only wanted the world to be a good place. It was great to hear about how he sometimes felt unsure of himself and unsure if what he was doing was right. It was great to hear him talk about how teaching children was so important and it was great hearing about how he developed his style for teaching children in such a way. Such a great guy. We didn't deserve him but I'm happy we had him.

Lee (2222 KP) rated A Ghost Story (2017) in Movies

Recently added to Netflix is 2017 movie A Ghost Story, starring Casey Affleck. From A24, the studio responsible for The Witch and Heteditary, so I was very dubious about watching this! A poignantly beautiful tale of life, death, time and grief. With minimal dialogue, it is definitely a very weird film (a 5 minute scene of someone literally just eating pie in silence?!), and many people will just hate it. For me, there was just enough thought provoking and beautifully shot scenes to keep me happy.

This book is a timeless love story written in a beautiful, lyrical way. The story itself was written from several different perspectives, which was quite easy to follow once I got into it and Lucy Foleys descriptive writing style easily transports you to each seperate setting really well. I found it very easy to get absorbed into the story and was eager to find out how everything was going to unfold. No spoilers, but, although bittersweet, I absolutely loved the ending and thought it was done brilliantly!

Oh. My. God. I LOVED this book more than I can say. This was the first I've read in the series and I will sure as hell be going back for more!? The writing was fabulous.. unlike your typical rock story and I was hooked right from the start and did not want to put it down. I loved Z and Anna and their connection was both beautiful and heartbreaking. Passionate love scenes, loss, hope, and undying love... An absolute must-read - Highly recommended!!

Graphics (1 more)
Gameplay
Excellent
This is a great game. I started the story but jumped straight into the multiplayer storyline which I liked so much better. The graphics are beautiful and gameplay much better than the previous red dead. The only problem is the amount of time it takes to get from A to B. Something happens you lose everything and you can't save.
I tried the PvP battles. Meh.
Overall it's very cool but eventually you get bored especially if your friends are not playing.

Emotional.
Jaycee Lee Duggard is a inspirational, brave and beautiful person and this book really sheds a light on what this poor woman went through. If you have read the story of her in the papers or watched documentaries, you should definitely read this. It's something I can't say I enjoyed for obvious reasons but I think it's written beautifully and more people should see why I think Jaycee is one of the strongest women I have ever experienced.

Amazingly Beautiful Graphics

Awkward Acting
Felt Like A Filler
Though the graphics of this movie were super cool the whole movie played awkwardly. There was a spark for something to really be there somewhere in the middle but in the end the actors looked awkward within their suits and characters as a whole. Plus from the angle in which most scenes were shot I found a lot of the effect distorted despite the amazing graphics displayed throughout the scenes.

Carmen Dupre (14 KP) rated The Last of Us in Video Games
Feb 2, 2020
A game set 20 years into the zombie apocalypse. You play as Joel, an old time survivor who is given the task of taking Ellie, a seemingly normal teenage girl, across the US. With a great script, some beautiful animation and scenery and a journey showcasing many different sides of a post-apocalyptic world, you get to decide yourself whether zombies or humans make up the real threat.

AT (1676 KP) rated To Your Eternity, Vol. 1 in Books
Apr 25, 2020
To Your Eternity is a strange, but interesting story, coupled with beautiful manga artwork. The premise is that an alien orb is thrown to Earth to find its way in some for of life here. It can not speak, but it can morph into any form. As it goes on its life journey, it evolves as it meets different living creatures. Without major spoilers, I will leave it at that. It's a unique story, but not one for young readers because of some violent illustrations.
