Can literally think of nothing bad about this series. Benedict Cumberbatch is phenomenal in his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, almost as if he was born to play the part. (0 more)

After watching the sequel Sunday night thought I would go back and watch the first one again I liked the first time benedict cumberbatch plays the title character very well with support from an excellent cast. The visual effects are so good and there's mads mikkelsen who is forever type casted as the villain but plays it so well anyway good first but the sequel is now my favourite doctor strange movie

Can never go wrong with this one
Benedict Cumberbatch makes an excellent Sherlock Holmes, definitely the best by far! Martin freeman makes a superb John Watson; it’s funny, heart racing, mind boggling & unmissable!

Fun to watch but nothing special
This is predictable beyond belief. As are most comic book films. A doctor has a big predicament (there's always some trouble at the beginning) and then has to become all-powerful to overcome this. Literally that's pretty much the entire storyline - it's not particularly intelligent. That being said, the graphics are pretty stunning, the scenes showing Benedict Cumberbatch running from one dimension to another is absolutely breathtaking. It feels on a higher scale than other Marvel films in terms of cinematography.

A very cool modern setting for the Sherlock character. This has great stories with some very talented actors. I like the way it uses technology in the show as well. Probably one of the BBC most successful shows.

More or less direct sequel to the first Robert Downey Jr Sherlock Holmes movie, that again continues the unfortunate trend of an over-reliance of slow motion scenes, and slapstick based around Holmes being in disguise.

Better than the first, yes, but nowhere near as good as the BBC Benedict Cumberbatch adaptations, or even of NBCs Elementary.

The timestone? Yep, was essential to resolving Infinity War in Endgame

<original review below>

The film that introduced magic (and the Time Stone, which will probably be essential to resolving Infinity War in Endgame), in which Benedict Cumberbatch plays Benedict Cumberbatch as the future Sorcerer Supreme, with Tilda Swinton as the current holder of that title.

As an aside: that was actually a cause of controversy at the time: why not cast an Asian or Eastern actor in that role instead of whitewashing it? went the argument.

The plot may also seem to be a reprise of Iron Man: rich, arrogant, privileged white man suffers personal catastrophe and heads East, returning a changed man. What sets this apart, however, is the somewhat psychedelic effects that often seem to owe more than a bit to Christopher Nolan's movie Inception!
