MusicCritics (472 KP) rated Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out by The Rolling Stones in Music
Oct 12, 2017
What is beyond dispute is that 1970’s Get Yer Ya-Ya’s Out is certainly the best live album the Rolling Stones ever recorded. For Stones enthusiasts, this newly unearthed bounty is essential and price should be no object

Sarah Johnson (15 KP) rated The Usborne Big Book of Colors in Books
Nov 15, 2017
Super creative book for both younger and older children who are interested in art and colors. The pictures are wonderful and it is book that will be loved and used beyond just teaching children there beginning color words. The pages are also made of a heavier cardstock insuring that the books will last after years of enjoyment.

Michael Jamison (5 KP) rated Bates Motel - Season 1 in TV

The cast is phenomenal! Norman and his mother, just wow! (2 more)
Character chemistry
Storylines
Fantastic show, highly addictive!
The show is awesome, gripping and dark. The characters chemistry and relationships are so believable, especially Norman and his mother, which goes far beyond the normal mother son relationship, which makes for sometimes uncomfortable viewing but still intriguing.
Overall the show is seriously strong; strong cast, storyline and darkness.

Movie Critics (823 KP) rated The Bad Batch (2016) in Movies
Jun 19, 2017
The casting of the film is interesting, neither helping nor hindering it. Waterhouse is lovely to look at but can't bring much life to Arlen beyond her beguiling face (to be fair, there isn't much of a character for her to work with).

Auburn (57 KP) rated Beware the Night in Books
Apr 10, 2019
The cover is gorgeous, the blurb amazing, but the love triangle ruins it all.
I wanted to love this book. The plot and creativity was so well thought out that I read it in one day. I enjoyed the development of each character, except the main. She did not grow, she did not learn, and she was beyond indecisive/annoying and that for me ruined it.

The Craggus (360 KP) rated Vox Lux (2018) in Movies
May 10, 2019
Vox Lux (2019) kinda sucks
Like its subject, “Vox Lux” is demanding, pretentious and self-congratulatory, although the film takes these traits to the point of cinematic onanism. Occasionally arrestingly shocking, it almost feels like, having grabbed your attention, it doesn’t really know what to do with it beyond hitting you over the head with its achingly obvious allegory for American cultural decline.

Peter G. (247 KP) rated The Abyss (1989) in Movies
Jun 5, 2019
This undersea action thriller is intriging with a slow start as the tension builds into one of the best sci-fi actioners out there, with an Eco message we should all heed.
Camera work is top notch and underwater scenes gripping and although not the most scientifically accurate, the balance ensures exciting viewing.
This movie has depth way beyond that of the sea it is set in.

Autumn (3 KP) rated Mansfield Park in Books

I really wanted to give this five stars, it's my favorite of Austen's novels excepting Northanger Abbey, but the idea that Fanny was oh, so fortunately raised by those who would be her family, that her husband influenced her opinions, temper, and worldview is beyond creepy. I can get over the cousin aspect but the molding of the perfect wife very nearly ruined it for me.
