I created a video explaining my slow decent into hating this series, book by book, for your viewing pleasure:

Well, this one is better than book 4 at least... But is that really a compliment? Honestly, if you read books 1-3, this one should slip by you just fine. As a matter of fact, the ending of this book left me with a lot of hope for the series. It seemed like the author had noticed that things were getting a bit boring- that the story needed more than just the Baudelaires hopping from place to place. So he gave us something to really motivate the story, and to really leave it on a high note, making us anticipate the next book with excitement. There'd be something new in the next one, something exciting!

Ha.

Great Book !!!

This book was a great start to a new series, I loved the reactions of the characters to the things that happened throughout the book. They were very believable, and they made me want to bake cookies :) .

I thought Myrna was a good character and I loved the play between her and Zeke, I wish it would have been a longer story as I didn't want it to end :)

The only thing that I didn't particularly like was all the bouncing around between the characters, however it was still a great story, and I would definitely recommend adding it to your TBR Pile. I can't wait to read the next book in the series !! I really love Sarah Price's Books :)

I volunteered to read this book from Kingston Books in exchange for my honest feedback, the thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

Off Base (Out of Uniform #1) by Annabeth Albert
Off Base is the first book in the Out of Uniform series. I double-checked the synopsis as it didn't feel like the first book, only to see it was a spin-off from the #Gaymers series! Now I have another series to catch up on ;)

Zack is an all-macho good guy, determined to make his deeply religious parents proud. His brother is basically a deadbeat, so he feels the pressure to be perfect. Pike is a friend of a friend, and someone who riles Zack up in all the ways he doesn't want to acknowledge. So be prepared for snarkiness and sparks between these two.

This was a wonderful introduction to this series, showing out Zack thinks he has to fight every battle alone. Seriously, you think he'd know better, but his fears have their place, and are very real to him. Pike helps him where he can, but isn't prepared to hide who he is. I absolutely love these two, so young, so unsure, and yep, so HOT!

There is romance, angst, pain, steam, and a multitude of other emotions between these pages. With no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow, I absolutely recommend this book. An absolute blast of a start to the series, and I can't wait to read more.

Flight is the third book in the Voodoo Butterfly series and it really must be read as a series rather than a set of standalones.

We start off in Malaysia as Sophie has travelled there to figure things out with Taj once and for all. Once there she realises things weren't as simple as she thought although, to be fair, it was quite clear as the reader just what was going on! 😁 Still, it made for a thrilling read, especially with the added bits of Sophie learning as she goes along. I do so love Marie and the witticisms she gives to Sophie.

The details given are, quite simply, amazing. I can only imagine the amount of research this series has taken but it is worth every moment. Yolanda was a bit too obvious for me so I can't say as I was surprised with that turn of events but even so, I still enjoyed how it was written.

This is an amazing series that just gets better with each book. I love the depth and history of each story and how they interlock with each other. I will always be #TeamJacques but I guess I can see how Taj fits into the picture. 😉

All in all, a brilliant book in a fantastic series that I most definitely recommend. Can't wait for the fourth!

It’s rare that I prefer a film or TV series to the book it is based on but I think this may be the exception. Having only seen the 1st series on TV I thought I’d give the book a go and although the world-building lives up to what I’d expect the story itself is slow and not as tense.

It’s scary and an all believable world that Atwood creates but the telling seemed bogged down in details over the mundane.

I probably spoiled myself seeing the TV series first but I’d recommend that to all. I feel the theme has been gone over plenty so won't rehash but it's a worthwhile story however you decide to consume it.

*Disclaimer* I received this book from Barclay Publicity in return for a fair and honest review.

Wow! This book will take you on a rollercoaster of a journey. In fact, scrap that, this SERIES will take you for a ride. I'm not going to go into the story - that's what the synopsis is for and as this is book 3 in the series, you've probably already got some idea of what's happening anyway.

As for Collide, it is one step forwards, two steps back - that is the unfortunate love story between Donna and Ryan and I really, REALLY want them to get a HEA but I'm not totally sure they will. They both have a lot of secrets and life... plus Ryan's father... keeps getting in the way of them being honest with each other.

This story is woven with such skill and lots of other strands are highlighted in this book - for example, Rebecca and Randy to name just two, along with Gemma, David and Lynn plus others.

This is part of a series and each book does end with a cliffhanger so fair warning - you will be left gobsmacked and wanting the next book immediately. A brilliant addition to the Young Adult, Science Fiction, Paranormal Romance genres. Highly recommended.

The story was short but it is part of a series so it didn't put me off. It was nice to read a book quite relatable in the way that the main character hadn't had much in love and found someone as she felt she was getting older and knew she needed to settle down. I wasn't keen on the way the writer kept mentioning the weight of the main character especially when it was repeatedly mentioned how beautiful she was. I understand the whole 'love yourself whatever your size' motto but I feel it was mentioned too much.
It is my type of book - romance.
I was hooked from the start and found the book really easy to get into.
I understood what the characters were like from the way they spoke.
As the book was so short I didn't connected to the characters and I didn't felt they moved me or grew in the book. This may change through the series.
The story is definitely aimed at women in their late 20s onwards.
I would read the other books in the series and I would recommend to others.
I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.

Cheree Alsop has long been a favourite author of mine and I was delighted to find out she had started another series, Demon Guard. PROPHECY is the first book and we are introduced to a twenty-two-year-old man, Raith, who is older than he should be due to his experiences. He nearly loses his life trying to rescue someone who didn't need rescuing. His life is saved and new abilities are awakened.

This was a brilliant way to start a new series. Both Raith and Nox are instantly relatable and you understand why they both have rescuer complexes. The supporting characters are a fantastic addition but, for me, it is the relationship between Raith and Nox where the book shines.

It isn't often I give book one in a series 5-stars but there is just no other option for this book. With action, sorrow, hope, and NOX!!!! how could I not? This is a world to sink into and I really can't wait to read more. Absolutely recommended by me.
