This, the first book in the Poppy McAllister series, was a five star read for me. Maybe even 6. I loved Poppys continual inner monologue. I loved the way I could actually relate to her. I loved the way she learned to believe in herself. I loved Fig! It was refreshing to have a cat in a cozy series who was so completely self-absorbed and cat-like.
A well-thought-out mystery to top it all off kept me engrossed enough to finish this book in a single sitting. If you enjoy a clever, humorous mystery with a loveable protagonist that you just want good things to happen to, go get yourself a copy of Class Reunions Are Murder. You will not be disappointed.

“A” is for Alibi by Sue Grafton (Kinsey Millhone #1) – 4
Laurence Fife was a cheating divorce lawyer, so no one was too upset when he was murdered. Still, his wife Nikki hires PI Kinsey Millhone to find out who did it. The catch? Nikki is out of jail on parole after being convicted of committing the crime herself. With the case closed and cold, can Kinsey find any fresh leads?
I’ve long heard of the series and wanted to start it, and I’m glad I finally did. While the book does fall victim to a few clichés of the genre, it’s still a very enjoyable book. The plot is strong and the characters real, both of which kept me engrossed. I’m looking forward to more of the series.

Out of the Wicked series, I liked this book the least so far. I couldn't get into it the way I did the first 2 books. My favorite piece of the book is the fact that you get the REAL story on the history of several of the characters...especially Mother Yackle.
I think part of the reason I didn't enjoy this as much is that this book is the story of the Cowardly Lion. I never appreciated him much in the Wizard of Oz as it is so I went into this book with a bit of bias already. I just didn't find Brrr (yes, that's his name) as interesting a character as I did the others. The book was still well written however so that saved it in my eyes.

GUARDING BLOODLINES is the second book in The Princeton Allegiant series. We reunite with the characters we met in book one, and finally, learn more about the elusive Julianna. After 300 years of running from Loren, she is here to stay, no matter what that may bring.
I enjoyed this one much more than book one, although I enjoyed that one too. I think Ms Garland's writing has improved tremendously, and there is such an eye to detail, it improves the whole story. The world-building is excellent and character growth remains true to the individual.
The overall arc is still in place and more information is given throughout the book, leaving you wanting more. Personally, I can't wait to read book three, and four, and you get the idea.
Definitely recommended by me!

I Can’t Imagine the Possibility of Fans Being Disappointed by this Book
With the fictional and non-fictional worlds now separate, Owen finds he has lost his imagination, not that he can imagine how that would be a problem. However, when Kara shows up and takes him 5 years into the future, he sees how things have devolved. Meanwhile, Bethany’s fictional half is enjoying her new life until her father is shot by a mysterious ray gun. What is Nobody’s plan doing? Can Owen and Bethany stop him?
If this isn’t making sense to you, don’t jump in here. This is the final book in the series, and it builds on everything that came before it. However, fans who have read the previous four books in the series will be delighted. We get another wild, fast paced ride. Almost all the characters we’ve met along the way are back for this book as well, and I loved seeing them all again. The climax is wonderful and wraps up the series well. Along with the fun and some meta laughs, we get some interesting thoughts on the importance of both imagination and reality.

Black Moon is the third book in the Zodiac series. I've enjoyed the series thus far, so I was intrigued to see where it would go. Sometimes it felt like the plot jumped around, but where the book really shines is in world building. The solar system is populated by 12 houses of people with many more planets and moons. Each house has its own personalities, physical attributes, and fascinating celestial bodies. She describes the various cities that Rho goes to with wonderful detail, building whole worlds in your mind. Each house is home to such varied peoples from the underwater dwelling Scorps with their pale skin and red eyes that allow them to see more in the dark, but cause discomfort in strong light to the tan Cancrians with their blonde hair. Each house embodies a specific attribute and we see that expressed in their people like the ever questioning Sagittarian or the balancing Libran. There's not much to say about the book itself as this is the third in the series, so anything would be spoilers. Highly recommended read for teen/young adult readers who are fans of fantasy, science fiction, and expansive world building.

Haka Ever After is the final book in the Sin Bin series, and it goes out on a high. Taine wants to marry Freddie more than anything. He is even prepared to brave Freddie's fathers, which trust me, is a big thing. Read their full story. You'll see what I mean.
Now, as the synopsis is the invite, you can guess that Freddie's fathers don't eat him alive, but it is touch and go for a while. Not only that, but Taine and Freddie want to celebrate their different cultures, as well as deal with their many friends who want to help.
This is a lighthearted story that wraps up this series nicely. You get a few words from most of them, plus some nice parts that will have you smiling like a loon. A perfect ending to a great series. Absolutely recommended by me.
