What a journey this book takes you on. This book takes you back to WW2 a bit and Nazi time. What will happen to Maisie Dobbs? The story gets even better as you read.
Why is everything a secret? They need to get a British man home from Munch. Will that happen? Maisie got to go to Germany as a family member of the man who being held by Hitler.
Maisie needs to be careful and Also protected. Will she return back home safe or will she be caught?
Jacqueline Winspear has become one of my favorite authors with the first book that I got to review. I will be looking for more of her books. I love to finish off the rest of the books in this series. She captured my attention the min you start reading. It takes a bit before getting to the story of a book. She gives a little background about Maisie Dobbs from the earlier book and continues on in this book.

I absolutely loved this book!! I was a bit scared thinking I wouldn't like it based on the majority of reviews, but I loved it!
It does start off a bit slow. I was about halfway through it before it started picking up. After that, it was hard to put down!
I love dystopian novels. (Brave New World being my favourite). This one didn't disappoint me either.
I could actually imagine something like this happening in the future. It's quite scary to think about.
I loved the characters of Zoe and Adrien. They are so cute together!!
However, I couldn't stand Max! I was secretly hoping throughout the book that he'd be killed off.
The one thing that really annoyed me about this book was the made up swear words. I understand that it's in the future, but still...surely they could've just been left out. Eventually, about 75% through the book, I just got used to it.
I would definitely recommend this book. I thought it was fantastic! I'm very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

Looking for a series or a good children book that may help with stress or stress-related things? Well, this book takes a look at a way to help your child or children. I love the way you can use yoga to help with emotions and stress.
This one is done well. It fun and enjoyable. Your child or yourself can learn from Little mouse adventure in the park. Your child or children will learn some good life lessons as well. Parents and grandparents will enjoy the book as well.
The pictures are fun. They are also enjoyable to look at as well. I see the problem solving throughout this book. The lesson taught in the book helps children learn a skill in their real world as well. Grandparents and parents alike will enjoy having the teaching of yoga and life lesson that children learn at a young age.
We know children get excited or scared. This book teaches about breathing and how to calm the mind in a fun and learnable experience.

I loved this book and I wasn't sure I would. It took me a couple of chapters to get in but once I did I was hooked. This became a book I could not put down and read it at every opportunity and now it has finished I NEED to read the second book in the series. I would recommend this book to anyone.
I really invested in Honey as Hamin and admitted her strong personality and never being beaten. I wasn't sure how much more she could take. I felt like I was on the journey with Honey. Not many books take me on that kind of journey.
I really felt like I could hear the characters and I got a really good insight into what type of person they were based on the author's writing.
As I mentioned I was not sure I would like this book from reading the blurb and I am so glad I did.
I can't wait to read the next book

The Past Comes Home (Ames Bridge #2) by Silvia Violet
The Past comes Home is the second book in the Ames Bridge series, and we reunite with Pax, who we met in the first book when he supported Beck and Cal. In this book, we start off when he is a teenager. He is watching his older brother and his brother's best friend, and realises that what ticks his boxes is NOT the female anatomy. The years pass, and tragedy strikes Pax's family, but his feelings towards his brother's best friend remain the same. So when Brad comes back to town for a school reunion, Pax has to try and keep it cool being as Brad is straight... except that he isn't and he has had the same feelings for Pax and for pretty much the same amount of time.
With the same wonderful cast of characters, and yep, the not-so-wonderful are still there too, it was a pleasure to come back to this series. With a different set of circumstances and dilemmas, Pax and Brad's story is different from Beck and Cal, and I'm happy to announce that they show up in this one too.

I was a fan of Silvia Violet's after reading Professional Distance (Thorne & Dash #1), and the Ames Bridge series has just compounded my love of her writing style. As expected, there were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. I read this book in a single sitting - the world (and my children) having to wait until I had reached the end of Pax and Brad's story. An excellent addition to the series, and highly recommended by me.

Make Me Yours (Isle of the Forgotten #3) by Tiffany Roberts
Make Me Yours is the third full length novel in the Isle of the Forgotten series, and we focus on Gaelin who we have met before, and Mayra, who was alluded to in Make Me Whole. Gaelin knew that he would meet his mate on the Isle, but never thought that he would be partnered with a demon! May has done enough that she actually sees being on the Isle as being free for the first time in 200 years. Now, of course, things aren't going to go smoothly for these two, even if the whole 'matedom' is mentioned a lot sooner than in the previous books. There is the whole evil necromancer, twisted Justicar, and not forgetting Mayra's twin who is controlled by a blood bond with the aforementioned necromancer! So there is plenty here to keep you occupied as you read the latest instalment of this brilliant series.
Whilst Morthanion and Aria remain my favourites of the series, it was great to catch up with the others in this book - even Quil who didn't get a full book. Whilst I can appreciate the whole alpha male protecting his mate, I thought that the equality within the relationship was a bit better in this book, as Mayra is a demon in her own right. Definitely the yin to Gaelin's yang. These two worked and played well together, whilst Gaelin was still in protective mode, so everyone was happy.
With an overall story arc, I would recommend that this is read as part of a series, rather than a standalone. It was very well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow. Plenty of action and a surprise at the end, I loved every word. Definitely recommended by me, and I can't wait for the next book to come along!

Whilst Morthanion and Aria remain my favourites of the series, it was great to catch up with the others in this book - even Quil who didn't get a full book. OH MY GOD THIS SERIES IS JUST AMAZING - HURRY UP NEXT BOOK I CAN'T TAKE THE WAIT AGAIN
I am lost for words with this book and how to review it. I don't have anything negative to say other than I want more!
I first read this series a few years ago, it was a recommended book on my kindle and it kept me company for 3 weeks whilst I travelled to London to do a course. I read all three books in that space of time and had to wait over a year for this one! This series is absolutely amazing and I never want it to end.
This book is Buffy meets Vampire Diaries (but better... ha) Jemma Blackburn is a Slayer. Only she doesn't know this until one day she meets a vampire and that's where her story begins. Jemma's mother isn't around and when she witnesses her father killed by a vampire and everyone says she didn't see one and she thinks shes going crazy. She then moves to her uncles and meets people at her school, who are different. Whilst there she finds out more about who she is, what she can do and why she is as powerful as she is. It all comes down to who shes descended from... but that's a spoiler that I can't tell you. Sorry!
I love the main character Jemma and I feel everyone should be able to relate to her in one way or another. Maybe it's the character she is or Bianca's writing, I'm going with both. But Jemma is definitely bad-ass.
Infernal is the fourth book and I thought was the last until the find pages and I eeked like a child when I realised there could be more! Without you reading the first book I don't want to reveal more about the series in this review because that's a huge spoiler.
But let me tell you one thing, it only gets better!

This is the fourth and final (so far) book in this series and what a journey it has been. I have been with Regina from the very start and hoped for a 'happy'ish ending for her. With everything that has gone on previously, I wasn't sure if a happy ending would be in the cards.
Let me tell you, the whole series builds up to the Big Battle climax - not just this book. The evil dudes that have been causing trouble from the start, are still causing trouble, only it is now even deadlier than before. The Pack and Prides need to figure out how to move this forward, to become a single cohesive unit, that can face the oncoming battle and have some chance of winning.
Now, unlike the other books, this doesn't come with a cliffhanger ending. Instead, it all ties up nicely whilst still leaving me with hope of a new story! I will say, at one point, I was getting a tad concerned about where the story was going. I won't go into details, suffice it to say that I've discovered my thinking is more Lykous than Tau (to begin with). How it all came to be though was just so right. I can't give you anything else than that but trust me, when you read these books, my cryptic comments will make sense but I really, REALLY, don't want to give anything away to spoil your enjoyment.
I will say that this book had me in tears... AGAIN! Not only was I ugly crying for the last book, but this one got me too. All I will say Wendi and Deborah really know how to tie your emotions to a character, so if they get hurt, you hurt too.
This is one of the most intriguing, interesting, complex, and fascinating series I've read. If you like an alternate take on things, then I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND this series. In fact, I really can't recommend it highly enough!

Okay, I didn't hate this book as much as I thought I would but that doesn't mean much. As anyone that follows my reviews will notice, I do not read mysteries. When I do read a mystery it is for book club and inevitably I find it dull. This book was no different. I would give this book a 2.5 star rating so I rounded up to 3.
The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency made me reminiscent of Agatha Christie & Mary Higgins Clark. So if you enjoy those authors, I'm sure that you would enjoy this author. There was mystery but no suspense so it seemed to drag on for me. I borrowed this book from the library but after reading 5 pages into the book, I had to switch to the audiobook so that I could force myself to read the rest of the book.
Not going to lie, this reminded me a lot of Winnie the Pooh. If you think about it, Winnie the Pooh was always looking to solve a mystery and each chapter or episode/15 minute segment was a new mystery. This is very similar to this book.
All in all, I will not continue on in this series.
