Unlike the other short M/M book I've read today, I didn't particularly enjoy this one. It started good but I lost interest once things started heating up between out decorator and gardener. It just didn't grab me, it was all sex with no feelings...maybe I'm being unfair by comparing it to the one I like better earlier, but that's the way I'm feeling right now.

I won't be continuing the series.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this! I was hooked from pretty early on and despite it not having much in the romance department, for once, I didnt care. It was too intriguing. Too... well, not so along the usual lines and I was pulled into the story.

And despite what i said above, I'm kinda holding out for a Tiger/Jonas relationship.

Looking forward to the next book in the series!

I didn't quite see the point of this. The first book, if tweaked a little, could have been one single story and this one wouldn't have been needed because apart from a few key points, nothing actually happened. Though the few things thrown in at the end have me intrigued. The Bethy thing. And the Grant thing. But I don't think I'm going to be continuing this series, so it doesn't matter either way.

I found this book to be highly emotional and a brilliant read. I can't wait to see what comes next in the New England State of Mind series. Absolutely recommended by me.

A gem of a book! (0 more)
Fails to Disappoint :)
This book certainly deserves its status as an essential modern classic.

It provides a somewhat sinister feel, but remains thought provoking. The overall story is short, but it incorporates such strong ideas that it makes up for it being a short read. Not only is it enjoyable, but it also serves to educate the reader on the dangers of attempting a utopian society. Its concept of why it is important to retain human memories – even the bad – in order that wisdom can exist, adds to the fascinating factor.

This book would be great to spur discussion and introspection. Although fans of contemporary dystopian novels will be sure to love this series, the book isn't solely the story of a depressing utopia. It's mainly the story of the relationship between the main characters: the Giver, Jonas, and... I won't say her name, and of course, the baby Gabe. This book is a more of a mystery in which things don't much get answered- they're left to linger. That's part of the beauty and hopefulness in this book! Just read the damn book, then call me.

You won't be disappointed if you read it, because it's an enjoyable read. It contains a great plot, the community is interesting, and the ending is fantastic and JUST a little ambiguous!-- cool!

"NEW TWIST ON STRANGERS ON A TRAIN" - THE SUNDAY TIMES
When I first met Susie, she appeared to be a normal, happily-married woman dealing with tragedy.
Then, I uncovered her secrets. While I could understand everything that she’d done, I could never approve.
But, knowing what she was capable of, it became clear that if I was going to survive her, I had to play by her rules.
And, the first and most important rule is… leave no singing bones.

WOW!!!!!! This is a gripping debut novel!
This book had amazing plot and character development.
I loved this book! I could not put it down at all!
This novel centered around 2 couples whose daughters had been wronged and the need for retribution. It makes you question yourself of how and what you would feel and do in their situation. I think it will be talked and debated about for some time!
This book is told by a third person, who'll stay unknown until the end of this book.
This is the first book of a series and I will be reading it. I literally can't wait to get to read the next one!
If i could award more than 5 stars this one would definitely be getting them!
I Highly Recommend this book.

Thanks to Netgalley, publishers and the author for the opportunity to preview this book!
