**This read was hard to put down. I initially held-out on getting the book because I heard I should get all three books of the series before hand because I will want to keep reading. That person was so right! I am angry with myself for waiting to read this book! I planned on going to the movie opening later this month but I wanted to finish this book before-hand. So glad I did.**

I think the author did an incredible job demonstrating each characters motivations. The characters are very memorable. I did not find any time where I wanted to stop reading or where the story slowed to a point where I couldn't go on. Many books have done that for me, not this one. I would definitely re-read this book and would go as far as to buy all my tweenies and/or youngin's in the family a copy!

I saw IT at a midnight release in a theatre with a person who caused me personal distress and when I say I freaked out, I mean it. But the second viewing, in the day and not with a creep, proved to be a little less scary.

For those who have never read this book, this was a frightening view of how children view fear and how hysteria can grip a town. Unexplainable things happen and no one seems to notice, almost at all. The scene with the blood in the bathroom really freaks me out every time, and her father standing in it not noticing is awful. That being said, this far the movie and the book have a lot of differences.

All in all, I feel that the movie was done well, but it doesn't hold a candle to the book. I can't wait to see the next paet though because I might change my mind!

IT was unique from the book and previous miniseries while still maintaining the story line. (2 more)
The kids were funny, and the personalities were similar to those in the book.
Bill Skarsgård played on the fluidity of Pennywise without forcing too much comparison to Tim Curry
Most of the movie was spent wondering how they were going to finish within the time frame. (1 more)
Henry Bowers and crew were much less prominent than in the book, this might be corrected during flashbacks in the second movie.

As a die hard Stephen King fan this book entered my consciousness at 14, before the mini-series which is unusual for my age group. I've devoured all 1400 pages of the novel at least 5 times in the last 20 years, and always felt the mini-series was "good for it's time".

This movie has delivered on the promise for more in a way that was amazing and over the top. Bill Skarsgård clearly did his homework on both Pennywise from the novel and Tim Curry's terrifying rendition. I loved his ability to show the infinite being's vulnerability and desire to be included, while at the same time showing it's ferocity and anger.

The special effects delivered what the promotional material promised, and sucked me right into the world of Derry without a second thought. I loved the references to the shed burning down, the refrigerator where Bowers suffocated the dog, and the phenomenal rendition of the Neibolt street house.

If the next movie is anything like the first it's worth seeing opening night. I look forward to seeing the Loser's Club as adults.

I didn't know what to expect from this book, but this was not it and yet I enjoyed it immensely. It almost makes it okay that we didn't receive a Black Widow movie in Phase 1, since we have this really unique way to explore her character. The book itself was full of the action, espionage and utter heart wrenching agony one would expect from a good Black Widow (back)story. Without wanting to spoil it, I just recommend that you read it and tease that a certain Avenger makes a cameo.

This was definitely a smooth read - I read it mainly so I could see the movie and I'm pumped about movie though I'm pretty sure it wont be the same. I had issues with some of the context - I get Rihannon had issues with things but she was a rude rudeeeeeeee one at some parts. And the part before the very end was great and sweet, though I was a bit upset by the end, ABRUPT much - then I saw it was a series - I have no intention of reading book 2 but I am excited for book 3 to come out.

Couldn’t put it down!
Wow! Not many books have me on the edge of my seat, but it everyday it was one of those “just one more chapter” scenarios. I appreciated the attempt to keep out the swearing. I don’t think it worked as well as intended, though. Such an exciting book! I can’t wait to see the movie now; I just hope it does the book justice.

Firstly, this was the second time I have read this book, having read it during my childhood. I decided to re-read it in honor of the new movie. I find myself liking this story mostly out of nostalgia. It is a fun adventure and I enjoy the characters and scientific theme. It is a short fun book well worth a read. One of these days I will get around to reading the rest of the books in the series.
