Twists and turns, unpredictable
Easy read
Couldn't put it down
Just closed the covers and really hope someone will read my review and read this. If historical Romances are your thing I think this one will be one for you!
It's such an easy book to get into. I read about 100 pages in one go and finished it quicker than most books I read.
I just found the story compelling, gripping and inspiring. It's not your typical romance, as the romance side is more on the back burner (I'd still put it in the Historical Romance category) and it's more about independence, hard work, determination, women's struggles in that era, friendship and family values. It's not often I find a book I don't see one fault with so I'd definitely recommend it to anyone. It's not a 10 as I save my ten for my utmost favourites, although this is blummin' close.

Awful
Hello my name is Stephanie I'll be your protagonist tonight my best friend has disappeared and I've decided I'm going to wank over her husband while he's in the next room, also did I mention I had a sexual affair with my half brother that only ended when he and my husband died in a car crash?
No its not game of thrones its yet another shitty thriller I've put myself through the misery of reading because I can't remember what 90% of the books on my kindle are about. If the opening lines aren't enough of a warning about how terrible this book is then perhaps this accurate description might help - Gone Girl without the writing, without the character development, with incest and clearly written after the author had drunk a bath full of prosecco and found a over used thriller story line generator somewhere in the dark places of the internet. or probably tumblr.

Final part in Ben Kane's Forgotten Legion trilogy, this follows the same format as the previous two books ('The Forgotten Legion' and 'The Silver Eagle') in following it's protaganist section about, ending each section on a cliffhanger.
Whereas before this could be slightly jarring (moving from Rome to, eg, Alexandria, and then back to Rome), it works slightly better in this novvel as some of the characters are working their way back to the seat of the Roman Republic eventually taking it section about within the environs of the city.
As the series has been working up to, the novel also culminates in the fateful Ides of March, with the infamous assissination of Julius Caesar in the forum by a disgruntled group of nobles.
The series as whole was readable enough, and while I may read a few more by this author, I doubt I'll be going out of my way to look for them.

First Jewel Book
I had no expectation when I picked this book up. I knew about the author but I didn't read any reviews about this book. And when I started it I didn't want to put it down I wanted to finish it.
Holly Black does an amazing job mixing the human side into the fairy side. She writes it like fairies could possibly be right. There were surprises in the book that I didn't see coming but I was happy for. The action and the emotion in the book makes you actually feel for the character like they are real.
I think the best part to this book and all of Holly's books is she doesn't make a realistic character she makes a realistic world. She puts in real world situations that actually happen and it brings the story to life even more.
Darkest Part Of the Forest, is in my Jewel Collection.

Outcast continues the story started in Hunted. Kayla and Tara are at the Faire, and so is Christine. The Blackwood clan is still after them, and secrets are about to be revealed.
Kayla develops as a character, although her feelings towards Ryan will make your head spin! We find out more about her childhood, and what it was like for Tara too. Yet more questions arise though, and are yet to be answered. Christine and Colm get to spend some time together as Christine learns just who the men are at the Forever Faire.
With a fast-pace, smooth storyline, and no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the flow of reading, this is a solid second book in the series, that leaves you on a cliffhanger and wanting more. Definitely recommended by me.

I liked the story line but it didn't keep me hooked like most murder mystery's do. Maybe because the investigating wasn't normal detective investigating. I understand this was the story line though. I liked the first few chapters then it lost me a bit.
It went into politics and I didn't like that as I don't like political story lines and how political powers sway things in books.
The author brought the characters to life by writing the way they spoke - this really ruined the book for me as I found it very hard to read. For some readers this may really bring the book together.
I feel the intended audience for this book are male aged 45 - 60. I didn't feel like a book for females. I wasn't sure how about some of the comments the main character made about the women in the book...he certainly likes the ladies.
I feel I was more hooked by the blurb than the book.

Hunting a Dinosaur Skull

And how did they do it? Meanwhile, he’s gotten a call from the Barksdale twins about their new exotic pet. Who is selling these dangerous animals?
This book really does have two storylines, and it balances both well. We do get a couple of lectures about endangered animals, but they don’t slow down the action for long. And with everything happening, there is plenty of action. When Teddy pieced together the clues, I couldn’t believe I missed them myself. The characters are great as always, and some of the situations Teddy found himself in made me laugh out loud. These books are aimed at middle schoolers, but anyone who enjoys a fun mystery should definitely pick them up.
