Well I read this book directly after finishing the first in the series because it was really that good. As it usually goes with series though, this installment wasn't as good as the original. But that's not at all to say that it wasn't a good read.
The same characters are included in this book with the addition of thru Grey Man, aka Mr. Grey...a hit man who had been hired to hunt down & retrieve the Greywarren for his boss. The ley line is losing its juice. Gansey is no closer to discovering Glendower. Blue & Adam are still dancing around each other.
The story took a bit longer to really get going in this book. Once it did however, it grabs the reader just like the first book did. It will be interesting to see what path the third books takes us down...

The Fembot Awakens
Slightly-retro-but-in-a-good-way SF movie from the writer of The Beach and 28 Days Later. Corporate minion is whisked off to the wilderness by wealthy boss to participate in experiments testing the intelligence of a female-looking android he has built; android indeed proves to have a mind of her own.
Wears its influences relatively lightly and looks good; that said, seems more content to play with the issues it raises than actually explore them with any real rigour. Ending is a bit silly, but forgivably so. If, as seems possible, the director wants to make a point about male exploitation of women, it might be better not to do so in a movie where every female actress is required to do a full-frontal nude scene. Smarter than the usual studio SF film, anyway; passes the time entertainingly.

When a car bomb explodes killing Cat DuBois, Phoenix police detective Joe Rodriguez has his list of suspects, including Cat’s boss, traveling evangelist Persis Magen. However, a second incident makes him question who is the killer and who are potential targets. Can he figure it out before someone else dies?
I first read this mystery 20 plus years ago, and it was fun to revisit these characters. I did remember the killer, but reading it now, the villain’s identity does seem a little obvious early on. The characters are strong, and I enjoyed getting to meet them again. By the end, I was easily able to remember who they all were, even given the large number we meet early on. This is a Christian mystery, which adds to the book.

Not very deep
This Netflix movie about a young woman who comes down with a mysterious brain disease was all right for me, but lacked much depth or details of the story. Her relationship with her boyfriend, divorced parents and her employer all become strained when her behavior starts to change.
It's not the story, which is of course compelling, I had a problem with. It was the screenplay which lacked any real depth and some of the acting. The actor playing her father, boyfriend, father and Tyler Perry as her boss I thought overacted and were not believable.
If I wanted to find out any details about the complexity of her illness, there weren't many to be found in this 88 minute film.
Do yourself a favor and watch Awakenings, Lorenzo's Oil or Something the Lord Made instead of this film.

So after months of hype does this all star blockbuster live up to the hype...well yes it does.
It's been many years since we have had a great gangster epic and the master of those films finally brings one that will be enjoyed for many years to come.Unlike his other epics this film focuses more on the relationship between the main protagonist frank sheeran and his boss jimmy Joffa.The violence is not as extreme as you would find in goodfellas or casino.
The only tiny criticism I have was the de-aging process used on some of the actors,the faces seemed a little animated and fake.
De Niro was incredible and has to be a strong favourite for the best actor oscar,pacino and pesci were brilliant as well and could get a supporting actor oscar nomination.
