Racing to Find Her Father
Jane Wunderly has returned home to Boston with her new fiancé, Redvers. However, when they come home, they discover that Professor Wunderly, Jane’s father, has left town, following a lead to an ancient artifact that he’s been hoping to find for years. Since something in Boston needs his immediate attention, they head to Istanbul only to find that he’s vanished. Not knowing if anyone they are meeting is friend or foe, they try to figure out where he is. Will they find him before it is too late?
It was wonderful to be back in 1926 with Jane and Redvers. Fans will be delighted to find that Aunt Millie is back as well. While there are some murders in the book, there is plenty of story to keep the reader entertained before they happen. I was hooked right away and always had a hard time putting the book down. The time period comes to life wonderfully as well. I enjoyed the new characters we met, and I liked watching Jane grow as a result of what she learned. If you are new to the series, you could jump in here. Whether new to the series or already a fan, you’ll find this book enjoyable.

Great film
Mark Wahlberg is a strange actor. He's turned out some brilliant films (The Departed) and some awful ones (Transformers). Fortunately this not one of the latter.
I knew little about the aftermath and investigation into the Boston marathon bombing, so I found this to be very fascinating and interesting, but tense and harrowing at the same time. It's not a pleasant topic, but it was handled very well. My only issue would be that Mark Wahlberg's character wasn't real, but then I do understand why they've done this to have a central point in a tale of lots of multiple narratives.

Gerritsen, has a way of writing that draws you in and keeps hold of you until the story comes to a natural close. It’s not drawn out in any of sense of the word, just long enough to hold the suspense. With some gruesome details dotted throughout, and an account of sexism is the homicide unit of Boston PD, it’s a great introduction to Rizzoli.

Abigail Adams is going to visit a friend, but her friends isn't home and there's a dead woman on her floor. Who is this woman? When John is accused of the crime, Abigail starts trying to clear her husband. Meanwhile, some tea has just sailed into Boston harbor…. I love Revolutionary era history, so I wanted to like this book. However, it let the detail of life during that time slow down the pace of the story. And the plot that was here was highly predictable.

Set in 1992 in Boston, this coming-of-age story attempts to tackle the issues of class and race as from the viewpoint of David Greenfeld, one of the few white kids entering King Middle School. There David meets Marlon, a quite boy living in public housing down the block from David’s house, and somehow, they become unlikely friends. Together they’re hoping to get out of King and into the prestigious Latin school, which could pave their way to getting into college, maybe even Harvard. Two Sided Coin
The Departed- is a excellent film. The cast, the plot, the mystery, the thrills, the suspense and the crime are all excellent.
The plot: South Boston cop Billy Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) goes under cover to infiltrate the organization of gangland chief Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson). As Billy gains the mobster's trust, a career criminal named Colin Sullivan (Matt Damon) infiltrates the police department and reports on its activities to his syndicate bosses. When both organizations learn they have a mole in their midst, Billy and Colin must figure out each other's identities to save their own lives.
Its a excellent film and a must watch.

Sometimes dead is better

This remake of the 1989 version, changed a lot from the oringal version.
Dr. Louis Creed and his wife, Rachel, relocate from Boston to rural Maine with their two young children. The couple soon discover a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his neighbour Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unspeakable evil with horrific consequences.
Instead of the son dying, now its their daugther who dies. The ending is soo scary, the cast is great. Overall its a great remake to a already great oringal fim.

There are events in history that are burned into our memories. The attack on Pearl Harbor, JFK assassination, Challenger explosion, Oklahoma City bombing, and 9/11 stand out as moments when their respective generations ask “where were you when?” The same can be said with the Boston Marathon bombing of 2013. In Patriot’s Day we bear witness to the various people involved with the events that unfolded during that week. We are reminded of the tension and fear that the nation experienced as law enforcement tried to find those responsible. The film reopens a wound that has just begun to heal so that we are reminded of the vulnerability that everyone, from every walk of life has to terrorism and acts of violence.
Patriot’s Day stars Mark Wahlberg as a police officer and native Bostonian who is placed on duty for the Boston Marathon. The film is not about him or his personal experience. Rather, the film is more about the myriad of individuals who witness or fall victim to the attack that day. Unlike similar films that deal with the topic of terrorism, the film does not focus on the effect the events have on one or two people. The film is complex and demonstrates the circumstances of the attack, the investigation, the apprehension, and the personal experiences through a variety of voices and faces. The film makes the experience personal and does not depend on sensationalism to sell the story.
The film will captivate those that see it in being able to learn more about the individuals involved or who fell victim. It is also remarkable in its ability to weave the storytelling so that each player has a strong development before their portion of the tale is fully realized. It allows for an appreciation of the individuals involved and demonstrates that they are more than just names in a report. Patriot’s Day is a film that will open wounds for those who witnessed and experienced the events first-hand, but allows for those who have little to no memory of that week to delve deeper into the way that the events played out and truly understand the manner in which the city of Boston went from hurting, to healing, to being strong.

Maggie Griffin seems to have the perfect life - she has a good teaching job at a private school in Boston, even if some of the parents can be a little trying sometimes. She has a loving boyfriend who wants to move in with her. Her best friend is getting married and Maggie is co-maid of honor. She even has a supportive family back in her hometown of Mystic, Connecticut. But when things start to unravel in Boston, Maggie finds herself back in Mystic. She tells herself it's just because her best friend, Erika, is getting married there, but once Maggie arrives back home, she isn't sure she wants to leave.
This book started out a bit slowly, but it quickly grew on me. Maggie is a slightly frustrating character at times, but she's also endearing and sweet. She's still finding herself, so you have to cut her a little slack. It happens to us all as we near thirty, right? The novel is certainly a bit predictable, but Maggie's character, as well as some of the supporting characters -- mainly her high school boyfriend Cameron -- keep it from being too silly and saccharine. It's not a literary masterpiece, but it's a fun, quick read: perfect to toss into a beach bag for the summer.
